Summary:
Age of Learning is seeking a full-time experienced QA automation engineer to join our team in our Guadalajara
office. This individual will participate directly in the development process to ensure that all software releases
meet the highest quality standards. The individual is self-motivated and results-oriented with hands-on
experience in testing and deploying high quality enterprise-level solutions in an Agile environment. A strong
candidate will have excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and a proven ability
to perform in a matrixed organization.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain a scalable test automation framework using Playwright (JavaScript / TypeScript)
Translate an existing comprehensive manual regression suite into a stable, maintainable automated test suite
Develop automated coverage for:
Application shell / routing
Flutter Web-based game experiences
Node map and adaptive learning flows
Establish best practices for:
Test architecture
Locator strategies (especially for Flutter Web)
Test data management
Reporting and failure diagnostics
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar)
Enable automated test execution triggered by: Merge requests, deployments, scheduled regression runs
Collaborate closely with: Manual QA, Software Engineers, DevOps/Platform teams
Evaluate and integrate device and browser testing platforms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, AWS Device Farm, etc.)
Provide guidance on test strategy, coverage gaps, and automation ROI
Mentor QA team members on automation concepts and test design
Required Qualifications:
Bilingual English and Spanish (verbal and written) in a business setting
You have a solid understanding of the full software development life cycle, from ideation to release
You have excellent attention to details
Experience working in agile environments, participating in sprint ceremonies,
Strong Experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript
Hands-on experience with Playwright or similar modern web automation frameworks
Experience testing web applications at scale
Solid understanding of test automation framework design
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with Git-based workflows (GitLab preferred)
Strong understanding of QA fundamentals: test case design, regression strategy, release validation, end-to-end, API, performance and usability testing
Ability to work effectively with canvas-rendered or non-traditional web UIs
5+ years of experience in a QA role
Preferred Qualifications
Experience testing Flutter Web or other canvas-based frameworks
Experience with Appium for mobile automation
Experience with cross-device and cross-browser testing platforms
Experience working on educational products or large user-facing web applications
Experience building automation frameworks from scratch
Exposure to performance, accessibility or visual regression testing
Ability to mentor junior testers
Familiarity with education technology products
