Join our client's service as a Senior Psychologist and become part of a highly experienced multidisciplinary clinical team supporting children and young people with complex needs including developmental trauma, neurodiversity, and special educational needs. Based in Preston, Lancashire, this role offers the opportunity to work across both education and residential settings, delivering high-quality assessments, interventions, and therapeutic support. You’ll be working in partnership with local authorities, CAMHS teams, and social care services, promoting positive outcomes for young people.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Psychologist, you will:

  • Lead on clinical assessments and therapeutic formulations for children and young people.
  • Develop and evaluate evidence-based intervention programmes.
  • Provide line management and supervision to regional psychologists.
  • Collaborate with education and care teams to embed therapeutic practices.
  • Deliver training, consultation, and reflective practice sessions.
  • Work closely with families, external agencies, and internal MDTs.
  • Promote safeguarding and contribute to child protection procedures.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • Experience in psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention
  • Understanding of developmental trauma, neurodiversity, and SEN
  • Ability to work collaboratively in MDTs and across settings

Desirable:

  • Supervision qualification and experience managing staff
  • Experience in education systems and challenging environments
  • Full UK driving licence
