(Senior) Project Engineer Instruments

TLDR

Drive the improvement of medical devices in the Brainlab R&D Instruments Division, directly impacting clinical workflows in hospitals around the world.

As a (Senior) Project Engineer in the Brainlab R&D Instruments Division, you will be part of an international, multidisciplinary, and highly skilled team responsible for a wide range of instruments and accessories that are used in various clinical use cases.

Your work includes the continuous improvement and refinement of our products and you will be responsible for ensuring that our medical devices stay ahead of the competition. Your contribution has an impact on daily work in hospitals around the world.

Your tasks include: 

  • Requirements engineering in direct contact with Product Management, surgeons and technical experts
  • Definition, coordination and/or execution of verification tests of medical devices
  • Creation of technical documentation acc. to international (MDR, FDA) and company standards (e.g. risk management and clinical documentation)
  • Communication with other R&D departments, manufacturers and other internal teams (QM, QA, Usability, Purchasing, Legal)
  • Proactive improvement of the portfolio based on a prioritized list
  • Expert competency ownership within the team
  • Managing small projects

What you offer: 

  • Education in Engineering or related discipline plus min. 5 years of professional experience
  • Experience with technical documentation for medical devices under MDR and CFR
  • Experience with CAD (Creo preferred)
  • Analytical mindset and creativity to develop reliable solutions
  • A well-organized and clearly structured work style
  • Ability to adopt to short-term requests with critical timelines
  • Good communication skills in general
  • Fluent written and spoken English
