The Role: Trail Ridge Power is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join their expanding team, reporting to the Senior Director of Project Engineering. This role is suited for a Senior Project Engineer who is passionate about renewable energy, thrives in a fast-growing environment, and wants to help build something meaningful from the ground up.

What You'll Do:

As a Senior Project Engineer, you’ll act as the technical owner across multiple renewable projects, from acquisition through construction:

  • Lead continuous improvement of internal engineering workflows and diligence for project acquisitions
  • Support design and engineering efforts across renewable energy and cleantech projects
  • Manage third-party consulting engineers and collaborate with partners on preliminary and final engineering plans
  • Serve as the Owner’s Engineer, managing EPCs and third-party engineering partners
  • Uphold engineering, equipment, and construction standards
  • Collaborate with Development and Finance teams to assess project feasibility, risk, and identify cost-saving innovations
  • Provide technical expertise in solar technology, including rooftop, ground-mounted fixed-tilt, and single-axis tracker systems
  • Review project deliverables for code compliance, utility interconnection requirements, and contract scope
  • Perform and review energy production modeling using PVsyst and Helioscope
  • Travel for work up to 30%, depending on project needs and home location

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required (Master’s degree is preferred)
  • 7+ years of renewable energy experience, including 5+ years with Rooftop Solar PV and small (1-10MW) ground-mount systems
  • Strong analytical mindset and creative approach to energy/carbon optimization problems
  • Experience managing a high-volume project portfolio with competing priorities
  • Ability to make technical decisions and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with Helioscope, PVSyst, AutoCAD, Procore, energy modeling, and MS Office

Nice to Have:

  • PE (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil)
  • Experience with energy efficiency, CHP, fuel cells, or other carbon-reduction technologies
