Position Summary

The Digital Project Management Office (PMO) team plans and implements key strategic Digital programs and projects to deliver outcomes benefiting UHN and the health system. We apply best practices for managing projects, change, and risk to ensure high quality deliverables, effective coordination of resources, and transparent progress reporting. Members of the PMO work in close partnership with a broad range of stakeholders, bringing the right teams together to streamline the demand, end-to-end delivery, and operational services in order to mobilize change and achieve value.

An exciting opportunity is available to showcase your talents as a Senior Project & Business Analyst on Project Aspire – the multi-year project to build a new state-of-the-art 15-storey surgical and patient tower at Toronto Western Hospital, enabled by digital solutions.

You will be a part of the Digital team planning and implementing leading-edge information, communication, and automation technology (ICAT) that benefit patients and clinicians.  Examples of solutions include network infrastructure, building management systems, a real-time location system, integrated bedside terminals for smart patient rooms, audio/visual systems, and expansion of UHN’s core health information and business applications throughout.

Duties

  • Analyze business needs, problems, opportunities, and solution scope 
  • Evaluate and validate solution value and benefits to the organization, supporting business case development and return on investment analysis 
  • Facilitate process and design workshops with multidisciplinary groups to identify, validate, and document business requirements 
  • Conduct workflow review and process redesign, and support continuous improvement processes 
  • Coordinate system design, build and testing 
  • Design data collection processes, collect and analyze data, lead data reporting and data visualization activities 
  • Apply rigorous project management techniques to assist in the management of project plans, schedules, status reports, and budgets 
  • Apply sound change management techniques for effective stakeholder engagement and communications, training, and implementation support 
  • Develop adequate level of knowledge of the subject matter and digital systems being implemented to effectively move projects forward 
  • Lead simple to moderately complex projects of small to medium scope, including planning, and monitoring project progress through tracking project milestones, risks and issues to deliver project within the planned budget, schedule, and with a high level of quality 
  • Undergraduate Degree in Health Informatics or Administration, Technology, Science, Business, or related field required 
  • Minimum 3 years of Project Management, Business Process/Analysis, and Data Analysis experience or equivalent required 
  • Sound knowledge of project management standards (project planning, implementation, evaluation, risk assessment, benefits realization) required 
  • Understanding of new healthcare facilities planning and construction is preferred
  • Sound technical knowledge of IT infrastructure is an asset
  • Familiarity with implementing healthcare technologies and/or solutions is an asset
  • Experience leading project workstreams or small projects independently, and either supervising or influencing project team members required
  • Experience developing/coordinating the development of business requirements
  • Experience in leading and conducting workflow mapping and analysis
  • Experience in delivering management-level presentations, training and/or end user support is required 
  • Experience coordinating/leading application testing preferred 
  • Experience in applying change management methodologies and tools an asset 
  • Experience with hardware and/or software vendor relations an asset 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Change Management certification an asset 
  • Familiarity with healthcare information systems, interfaces, HL7, ITIL, data centre, network infrastructure, and/or enterprise architecture an asset 
  • Experience with Epic system an asset, including use, build and/or vendor certified
