Senior Program Coordinator for Strategic Initiatives

Support the implementation of Capital process reforms at NYC Parks by tracking performance with data and crafting strategies for agency-wide asset management.

NYC Parks is an award-winning city Agency that builds and cares for public spaces for New Yorkers to connect, play and enjoy. These public spaces, encompassing over 5,000 properties and 14% of the city’s land and coastline, include seawalls and waterfronts, pedestrian bridges, beaches and boardwalks, parks and playgrounds, historic houses, recreation centers and pools.

Major Responsibilities

- Reporting to the Chief of Capital Strategic Initiatives, and with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, support the implementation of Capital process reforms, often using data to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Liaise with the Integrated Data Solutions team at Capital to address Division-wide business needs through tech solutions, especially as new processes or amended workflows are introduced.
- Prepare innovative and concise presentation materials that comply with Agency standards and convey complex concepts to support decision making; brainstorm and storyboard messaging with senior staff.
- Guide internal stakeholder communication, especially on multi-division projects and Capital-specific information that impacts other division projects.
- Provide Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) on information shared publicly regarding Capital projects, schedules and updates.
- Craft asset data management strategies and platforms to be used throughout the Agency.

COMMUNITY COORDINATOR - 56058

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
