Role Summary The Product Manager drives the strategy, discovery, and delivery of Sophos Workspace Protection, a Security Service Edge (SSE) solution. You will partner closely with engineering, design, sales, and customer success to build solutions that protect organizations as they embrace cloud-first and hybrid work environments. This Product Manager role owns the full product lifecycle, including identifying market opportunities and defining strategy through launch, adoption, and scaling. The primary focus of SSE capabilities will be Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), the Sophos Protected Browser, and, to a lesser degree, the Sophos SD-RED devices. You'll operate at the intersection of security domain expertise, customer insight, and technical execution, with a global scope that includes regular collaboration with regional teams and periodic international travel. What makes this role unique is the combination of breadth and depth: you'll shape product direction in one of the fastest-evolving segments of cybersecurity, working across every function of the business. What you will do
  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for capabilities within Workspace Protection, with a focus on ZTNA and Identity Provider integration, for private and SAAS app access use cases.  This includes discovery and research through definition, delivery, launch, and iteration.
  • Define and maintain a clear product roadmap grounded in evolving security needs, competitive dynamics, and business objectives.
  • Develop expertise in SSE use cases, with particular focus on ZTNA and Protected Browser — understanding how businesses deploy these capabilities to secure remote access, reduce attack surfaces, and protect sensitive web-based workflows.
  • Conduct customer discovery through interviews, data analysis, and close collaboration with global and regional sales teams to uncover high-value security problems worth solving.
  • Translate complex security and networking requirements into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that enable engineering teams to deliver with confidence.
  • Partner with engineering to guide development, remove blockers, and ensure quality outcomes
  • Stay current on the competitive landscape to inform positioning and roadmap decisions.
  • Drive go-to-market planning in collaboration with sales, marketing, and customer success, including enablement on use cases and differentiators.
  • Define and track key product metrics, using data to inform decisions and communicate results to stakeholders.
  • Present product strategy, progress, and results to the product leadership team and Senior Management Team
  • Travel globally (~15% of the time, typically in 1-week trips) to engage with customers, regional teams, and partners
  • Report to the Director of Product Management
  •
What you will bring
  • At least 5+ years of strong experience in product management having domain knowledge of cybersecurity, networking, or a related B2B SaaS environment
  • Strong understanding of the SSE market, including core capabilities such as ZTNA, SWG, CASB, DLP, and Protected Browser
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust architectures and how businesses adopt ZTNA to replace legacy VPN and secure access to private applications
  • Understanding of Protected Browser use cases — how businesses use browser-level controls to secure access to SaaS apps, protect sensitive data, and enable BYOD/contractor workflows
  • Proven track record of taking products from early discovery through launch and scaling in a technical domain
  • Ability to translate complex security and networking concepts into clear product strategy and actionable requirements
  • Comfort with data — you use quantitative and qualitative insights to drive prioritization and measure success
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority across engineering, sales, design, and leadership
  • Experience collaborating with global or distributed teams and engaging with enterprise customers and prospects
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; technical degree, or security certifications (CISSP, CCSP, etc.) are a plus
