About the Role (your why) 

Datapay is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own and elevate the user experience across all user cohorts, including employee self-service. You’ll lead the UX strategy and execution, ensuring intuitive, accessible, and efficient experiences from discovery through delivery. You will bring exceptional customer understanding and empathy to life through deep research, synthesis of insights, and a relentless focus on user outcomes. What you’ll bring 

  • 5+ years of product management with proven success delivering exceptional user experiences in fintech/payroll or regulated domains 
  • Exceptional customer understanding and empathy; expert in qualitative research methods (interviews, contextual inquiries, diary studies, ethnography) and quantitative signals 
  • Deep involvement in research with the ability to translate insights into a compelling UX strategy, personas, journey maps, and actionable roadmaps 
  • Track record of delivering UX improvements that drive adoption, satisfaction, efficiency, and error reduction; strong UX metrics (task success, time on task, CSAT, NPS, funnel metrics) 
  • Experience collaborating with designers, researchers, engineers  and customer-facing teams to translate user needs into PBIs and acceptance criteria 
  • Strong backlog management and prioritization skills; able to balance user outcomes with business goals 
  • Knowledge of accessibility (WCAG), inclusive design, and compliance considerations in product development 
  • High-level understanding of frontend technologies and architecture to partner effectively with engineers on UX feasibility and performance 
  • Familiarity with OKRs and aligning UX work with company objectives 
  • Proficiency with AI tools for discovery, research, documentation, and rapid prototyping 
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams 
  • Leadership and mentoring capabilities; passion for coaching junior PMs and promoting a culture of learning 

Responsibilities 

  • Define and own the UX strategy and roadmap for all user cohorts, including employee self-service; align with company OKRs and establish measurable UX outcomes 
  • Lead deep user research and discovery; synthesize insights into opportunities, personas, journey maps, and hypotheses; prioritize backlog items with a clear user-impact focus 
  • Own end-to-end UX delivery with cross-functional teams (design, frontend, backend, data, analytics, compliance, GTM, and customer success); ensure accessible, intuitive, scalable experiences 
  • Write PBIs and acceptance criteria focused on user outcomes; translate research findings into flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications 
  • Conduct usability testing, contextual inquiries, and ongoing usability monitoring; drive iterative improvements and data-driven decisions; manage change as needed 
  • Monitor UX metrics and perform post-launch analyses; run experiments to optimize flows and adoption 
  • Communicate progress, trade-offs, and impact to stakeholders; advocate for the user across the organization 
  • Mentor junior product managers and foster a culture of continuous learning and user-centricity 
  • Ensure safety, compliance, and ethical product development in line with company policy; champion inclusive design and accessibility across the product lifecycle
