Senior Product Manager - Fleet Lifecycle and Hardware Sustainment

TLDR

Lead the lifecycle management and optimization of LVT's hardware fleet, ensuring high performance through strategic upgrades and data-driven insights.

ABOUT LVT

LVT is redefining how businesses operate in the physical world, moving beyond traditional security solutions to deliver AI-driven, actionable intelligence that makes sites smarter, safer, and more secure. Since pioneering our first mobile, solar-powered units, our commitment to scrappy, hands-on innovation has made us an established leader and one of the fastest-growing companies in intelligent site technology. We are building the next generation of solutions—from our physical units in the field to a powerful Agentic AI platform—that allows our customers to gain unprecedented visibility and control over safety, compliance, and operations. This is your chance to join a cutting-edge team that isn't just watching the world change, but actively building the technology that is changing it.

We’re a team that’s focused on growth and innovation, and we’re proud that our crew, products, and leadership are being recognized for it.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

LVT is seeking a strategic, systems-thinking Senior Product Manager to own the lifecycle, health, and evolution of our deployed hardware fleet. While other PMs focus on "New Product Introduction" (NPI), your mission is "Product Life Extension & Optimization." You will be responsible for thousands of mobile surveillance units and building-mounted systems in the field, ensuring they remain high-performing platforms for our software and AI.

You will sit at the intersection of Hardware Engineering, Service Operations, and Data Analytics, transforming "field units" into a reliable, modular, and data-transparent fleet.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fleet Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and execute a multi-year roadmap for fleet upgrades, retrofits, and end-of-life (EOL) transitions that align with LVT’s broader software and AI goals.

  • Obsolescence & Continuity: Proactively manage component lifecycles (modems, sensors, power systems). Identify "at-risk" components for current products and lead the "make/buy" validation process for drop-in replacements to ensure zero supply chain or field downtime.

  • Uptime & Utility Optimization: Define and track KPIs for fleet health (e.g., MTBF, uptime, energy efficiency). Partner with Service Ops to identify root causes of field failures and drive hardware engineering changes to improve reliability.

  • Retrofit & Upgrade Kits: Lead the development of modular hardware "refresh" kits. Enable older units in the field to support modern AI/ML capabilities through cost-effective field upgrades rather than full unit replacements.

  • Data-Driven Lifecycle Management: Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to build "Fleet Health" dashboards. Use telemetry data to move from reactive maintenance to predictive hardware replacement cycles.

  • End-of-Life (EOL) Governance: Define the criteria and process for decommissioning legacy hardware. Manage the transition plans for customers to ensure a seamless migration to newer platforms.

  • Stakeholder Partnership: Act as the primary product interface for the Director of Service Operations, ensuring that hardware is "Designed for Service" and that the field tech feedback loop informs the next generation of hardware.

  • Unit Economics: Drive initiatives to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) of the fleet by improving durability, reducing power consumption, and lowering the cost of field repairs.

  • Travel: Ability to travel up to approximately 10% for customer visits, supplier meetings, and field operations support.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience, with a proven track record of managing complex physical hardware through its entire lifecycle (cradle to grave).

  • Hardware/Software Systems Fluency: Demonstrated experience managing products that involve a deep "handshake" between embedded electronics (sensors, cameras, modems) and cloud-based software.

  • Operational & Financial Acumen: Strong experience in operational analysis and financial modeling; ability to build business cases for large-scale retrofit programs vs. new unit capital expenditures.

  • Technical Depth: Familiarity with embedded electronic products, power management (Solar/Battery), and communication interfaces (LTE/5G, Ethernet, POE).

  • Data & Analytics Proficiency: Experience using BI tools (Tableau, Looker, or Power BI) to analyze fleet telemetry and drive decision-making.

  • Vendor & Supply Chain Management: Proven ability to manage hardware vendors, perform "make/buy" analyses, and navigate component end-of-life cycles.

  • Leadership & Influence: Ability to lead cross-functional teams across Engineering, Field Service, and Finance without direct authority.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field. An MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus.
