Role Objective
Own and lead the eMMC product line end-to-end — from chipset strategy and supply-chain planning to market positioning and sales direction.
This role is not execution-only. This role is expected to anticipate market shifts, define strategy early, and stabilize the entire supply chain through clear product and capacity planning.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product & Strategy Leadership
- Define eMMC product roadmap at chipset / controller level, not just SKU level
- Anticipate market shifts (NAND cycles, controller EOL, process migration, geopolitical risk)
- Decide mainstream strategy (capacity, controller, NAND type) to reduce fragmentation
- Translate strategy into clear direction for sales, procurement, and manufacturing
- Act as the single point of accountability for eMMC business performance
2. Supply Chain & Material Planning
- Lead long-term material planning (NAND, controller, PMIC, substrate)
- Balance buffer strategy (FG vs component level) to ensure supply stability
- Work closely with procurement to lock supply early before shortages
- Ensure BOM stability, lifecycle planning, and risk mitigation
3. Sourcing & Partnership Development
- Source and manage controller vendors, NAND suppliers, OSAT, EMS
- Build strategic partnerships, not transactional sourcing
- Evaluate second sources and alternates to reduce single-point risk
- Work with partners on roadmap alignment and long-term commitments
4. Manufacturing & Execution Knowledge
- Understand manufacturing flow: wafer → die → package → assembly → test
- Work closely with factories on yield, test coverage, qualification planning
- Drive manufacturability-aware product decisions
- Align engineering, QA, and operations for smooth execution
5. Market & Semiconductor Insight
- Maintain deep understanding of:
- NAND supply/demand cycles
- Controller roadmap and technology shifts
- eMMC market trends (automotive, industrial, consumer, legacy)
- Provide market intelligence to leadership and sales
- Ensure product decisions are market-driven, not reactive
6. Business & Sales Enablement
- Set product direction for sales — what to sell, what to push, what to avoid
- Enable sales with:
- Clear positioning
- Migration paths
- Qualification strategy
- Ensure sales execution aligns with product and supply strategy
- Prevent ad-hoc deals that destabilize supply or roadmap
Requirements
-
5–10+ years in eMMC / NAND / semiconductor product management or equivalent
- Strong background in:
- Supply chain planning
- Material & capacity management
- Semiconductor manufacturing
- Ability to think strategically before the market shifts
- Comfortable leading cross-functional teams without authority
- Strong business mindset — PM as business owner, not coordinator
