Job Description

So, what will your new role look like?

As a Senior Product Designer on ShareGate Protect, you’ll help shape the future of digital governance and play a key role in one of the company’s most important growth areas.

ShareGate Protect helps IT professionals understand what’s happening in their organization’s tenant, spot issues such as oversharing and sprawl, and take action with confidence across increasingly complex digital environments. Your work will focus on high-impact moments: helping people identify potential pitfalls, make sense of complexity, and feel prepared, not overwhelmed, when issues arise.

This role is a great fit for a designer who loves making complex systems feel simple and human. You’ll transform dense, behind-the-scenes rules and data into clear, calm, and action-oriented experiences. AI is a core part of the product. You’ll design AI-assisted insights and workflows that explain what matters and guide users on what to do next, in ways they can trust.

You’ll work as a leader and hands-on designer in a tight product trio, owning problem spaces end-to-end. You’ll shape the vision, influence the roadmap through prototypes and real customer insights, and ship high-quality work quickly while maintaining a long-term view on how governance and AI will evolve together.

Responsibilities:

  • Own high-complexity problem spaces end-to-end, from early concept and prototyping through build, launch, and iteration in production;
  • Shape product vision and influence roadmap direction through strong UX points of view, rapid prototyping, and deep customer insight;
  • Design AI-powered experiences that feel intuitive, trustworthy, and genuinely valuable across diverse customer personas and use cases;
  • Actively use modern AI-assisted design and prototyping tools to explore ideas, accelerate learning, and collaborate closely with product and engineering partners;
  • Lead fast, lightweight discovery loops using behavioral signals, scrappy research, and in-product data to inform decisions;
  • Convert bold ideas into small, testable experiments that generate fast learning, measurable outcomes, and clear next steps;
  • Partner deeply with PMs, engineers, and data to define scope, constraints, technical feasibility, and success metrics;
  • Balance short-term execution with long-term strategic foresight, helping guide product direction as the market and technology evolve;
  • Advocate relentlessly for quality, usability, and clarity across the end-to-end customer journey, including post-launch improvements;
  • Mentor and support other designers through feedback, collaboration, and role-modeling strong craft, judgment, and design thinking.

A typical week?

A typical week as a Senior Product Designer on ShareGate Protect blends strategic thinking, hands-on making, and close collaboration with your product trio.

You’ll spend time:

  • Framing opportunities and shaping direction during trio planning and strategy sessions;
  • Use AI prototyping tools to deliver solutions that address key customer pain points in testable experiments.
  • Interview customers to empathize and understand their needs & challenges;
  • Running lean experiments to validate AI-driven ideas and governance workflows;
  • Execute and deliver high-quality solutions that meet business objectives and customer needs
  • Collaborating with engineers to ensure feasibility, scalability, and design quality;
  • Reviewing usage data and customer feedback to guide iteration and trade-offs;
  • Presenting proposed solutions early and often to drive alignment with teams, and stakeholders
  • Refining interaction details, edge cases, and system-level patterns;
  • Documenting decisions clearly to keep teams aligned and moving fast.

You’ll have real ownership, paired with strong collaboration, trust, and support.

What does your future team look like?

You’ll be part of a product team where designers are strategic partners, not order-takers.

Design is involved throughout the entire process, from problem framing to delivery. We value strong opinions, fast learning, and clear rationale. We challenge each other respectfully, ship often, and hold a high bar for quality — especially in complex, high-impact areas like governance and AI.

What are the next challenges awaiting your team?

We’re redefining what modern IT governance looks like in an AI-first world.

That means:

  • Designing AI-powered workflows that users trust with critical data;
  • Making complex governance concepts feel approachable and actionable;
  • Balancing experimentation with reliability in enterprise-grade software;
  • Scaling design quality and coherence across an evolving product ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience designing complex SaaS products in cross-functional teams;
  • Proven ability to own ambiguous, high-impact problem spaces from concept through shipped outcomes;
  • Experience driving new product initiatives, early-stage features, or undefined problem spaces, from idea through iteration in a fast-paced and iterative environment;
  • Strong experience designing end-to-end workflows and systems, not just isolated screens;
  • Hands-on experience designing, shipping, or iterating on AI-powered or data-driven product experiences;
  • Uses AI-assisted prototyping tools as part of their design-tech stack to accelerate strategic;
  • Experience with Figma Make and Cursor (or equivalent tools) is a must.
  • Ability to balance speed, craft, and strategic thinking in fast-paced environments;
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a track record of influencing product direction;
  • High bar for interaction design, edge cases, and overall UX quality.
  • Hands-on coding experience is considered a strong asset.
