Justworks is seeking a Senior Product Designer to help scale our Customer Identity and Customer Access products within our Platform team. This role is responsible for delivering a cohesive design experience across these two squads. The Customer Identity & Access Management team’s mission is to ensure users have frictionless and fortified access to our products & features by employing robust authentication and authorization services. These experiences will be the glue that creates a cohesive experience across Justworks’s growing suite of products. To do this, the team will rely on your systems thinking and interaction design expertise to continuously iterate toward as seamless of an experience as possible.

As a Senior Product Designer, you will be responsible for designing human-centered experiences backed by evidence and systems-thinking. You will clearly articulate problems and objectives as you explore different possibilities, collaborate with your team to ship products, and learn from our users to iterate and improve the product and process. You will craft detailed articulation of product experiences and that effectively balance business and user needs. In addition, you will exercise an ability to mentor other designers and contribute to Design at Justworks through your expertise and ingenuity.

Your Success Profile

What You Will Work On

  • Lead design work pertaining to complex user identity management, security, and role-based access while prioritizing an exceptional human-centered experience
  • Collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers, data analysts, and other designers 
  • Lead projects through an end-to-end design process: strategy, research, ideation, detailed interaction and visual design, prototyping, launch, measure, and iterate
  • Work independently and guide the design process from start to finish. Proactively take the initiative to improve user experience through innovative solutions
  • Create deep and detailed solutions that effectively balance the needs our users and our internal teams that will leverage platform solutions, inclusive of clear user flows, experience maps, and similar methods that simplify the complex
  • Support design decisions with data and insights
  • Collaborate closely with engineering peers throughout the design process to merge technical and experience architecture
  • Facilitate workshops with your users, team, designers, and other cross-functional partners
  • Contribute to the growth and development of Design at Justworks
  • Interview potential users - internal and external - and conduct research to uncover customer problems and opportunities
  • Lead workshops and effectively align the group around a vision and approach
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in product design or related fields, with a portfolio that shows your process, a human-centered approach, and the results
  • You’re energized by solving complex product problems and communicating them with simplicity
  • Cross-functional collaboration is key to how you work
  • Confidence in making technical decisions that are best at that given point in time and comfort with making decisions with incomplete information
  • Curious, thoughtful and genuinely care about the quality of what ships to our customers
  • Comfortable leveraging data in your design process and champion evidence-based design
  • You’re adept in design tools, such as Figma, UserTesting 
  • Bias for taking initiative and ownership of work, filling in the blanks when encountered by ambiguity
  • You have a growth mindset and seek feedback early and often from your coworkers and customers.
  • Excellent visual communication skills, and effective communication overall (written/verbal communication)
  • Experience working in multi-product environments

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $165,000.00 to $181,500.00 per year.

Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location.  Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
