Senior Product Designer, Music Mission

TLDR

Lead the design of AI-driven experiences that enhance workflows for music creators while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to drive impactful initiatives.

The Music Mission team owns Spotify’s end to end proposition for music creators and the experiences they create for fans. The team is dedicated to building tools and services to enable creation, promotion, expression, and monetization at scale. We are the Music Mission Design team — a multidisciplinary group shaping the tools artists and their teams use to grow, connect with fans, and build sustainable careers. We design Spotify for Artists, a platform used by creators around the world to understand their audiences, plan releases, and tell their stories. We are investing in intelligent AI-driven experiences that help artists move faster, make informed decisions, and unlock new creative opportunities. This role sits at the intersection of craft and emerging technology, helping define how AI reshapes workflows and how artist teams interact with Spotify for Artists. What You'll Do
  • Lead end-to-end design for complex, workflow-driven experiences across Spotify for Artists
  • Define interaction models for AI-assisted and automation-powered product experiences
  • Rapidly prototype concepts using AI-enabled tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar environments
  • Partner closely with engineering and product to translate intent-based interactions into scalable systems
  • Contribute to evolving design system patterns that support AI-driven experiences
  • Share learnings and best practices to increase team fluency in agentic and AI-supported product development
  • Participate in design critique, asynchronous reviews, and cross-functional collaboration with research, product, and engineering
  • Balance long-term vision with iterative experimentation to deliver measurable impact for artist teams
  • Who You Are
  • You have 6+ years of experience designing and shipping complex digital products
  • You have experience designing AI-powered or automation-driven product experiences such as copilots, assistants, or workflow tools
  • You are comfortable collaborating closely with engineering partners and understanding technical constraints
  • You have hands-on experience using AI-assisted development or prototyping tools
  • You think in systems and consider states, orchestration, scalability, and edge cases
  • You are energized by ambiguity and early-stage product exploration
  • You balance speed and craft, prototyping quickly while maintaining strong design fundamentals
  • You have experience designing creator tools, B2B platforms, or analytics-driven workflow products

  • This role is based in New York, NY
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home
  • The United States base range for this position is 147,595.00–210,850.00 USD, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six-month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, paid flexible holidays, and paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
