Senior Product Designer

As our new Senior Product Designer at Melio, you will be instrumental in solving complex problems for our global users,  setting the standards for UI components, interaction patterns, and product and visual design. You should have deep empathy for users and a strong commitment to user-centered design principles.

You will take ownership end to end, from research through prototyping to design and usability testing, and partnering with product managers, engineers, and content strategists to oversee people's experience with the product from conception to launch. You will design flows and experiences that are incredibly simple and elegant.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of demonstrated experience with end-to-end (hybrid UX and UI) product design in a software product company
• Excellent communication skills (able to clearly articulate design decisions)
• A strong design point-of-view and a high level of comfort with opposing opinions
• Experience participating in and facilitating design research, design sprints & ideation sessions
• Demonstrated experience in building and shipping applications or software (mobile/web)
• Experience working from and contributing to established design systems/design language
• Ability to handle complex user requirements and translate them into coherent design solutions. 
• User-Centered Mindset: Ability to advocate for user needs throughout the design and development process.
• Strong problem-solving skills, fast learning, and an ability to work with data
• An understanding of the product life cycle, from research through prototyping to design & usability testing
• Experience designing for diverse groups of people (international audiences)
• The ability to think and envision how things should work/move/interact with users to create delightful experiences
• Extensive mastery of Figma/Sketch/InVision and other prototyping tools

Bonus points:

• Expertise in data visualization and hierarchy within workflows. Expertise in creating coherent and readable information
• Experience in creating tools for B2B enterprise solutions
• Experience in fintech
• Having a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication isn’t a must, but it’ll definitely count in your favor.

• Taking broad, conceptual ideas and turning them into something useful and valuable for our users
• Emphasizing a strong product strategy and vision (not just 'how should this look' but also 'what should we build next') to meet and enhance business goals across the company.
• Designing flows and experiences that are incredibly simple and elegant
• Taking part in defining a design system to be used across multiple products and platforms
• Contributing to high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the product and executive teams
• Giving and soliciting feedback from other designers to continually reiterate and improve
• Partnering cross-functionally to oversee people's experience with the product from conception to launch.
