About the role
We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our cross-functional Connect team. In this role, you’ll be an integral part of the wider Design team while working deeply within a fast-moving team of Engineers and a Product manager.

Our product ecosystem is a multi-sided marketplace serving three distinct audiences in the commercial construction industry. We need a designer who can quickly grasp these different user perspectives and identify the functional connections that cut across various products and features.

You thrive in fast-paced, lean environments and are adept at using data and behavioural insights to transform friction into flow. Rather than working in isolation, you are a proactive partner to Product and Engineering, collaborating from the earliest stages of a project to co-create solutions. You own the entire design lifecycle from discovery and user research to high-fidelity UI, and are comfortable using lo-fi explorations to iterate quickly with your team.

We value a pragmatic balance: you use human-centered design principles to ensure we build the right thing, but you also prioritise shipping early to learn from real-world feedback. You are able to effectively communicate how design decisions drive both user value and business growth to stakeholders across the organisation.

As our Senior Product Designer you will:

• Own the end-to-end UX/UI design, prototyping, and testing for our SaaS application, ensuring all solutions are consistent, accessible, and responsive across devices
• Independently scope complex problems within the user journey, performing continuous discovery, and mapping user journeys and growth loops 
• Articulate and guide design thinking and decisions to cross-functional peers and senior leaders, leveraging data and research to secure alignment, particularly when navigating complex internal or technical dependencies.
• Focus on user research, synthesising insights, and defining clear design opportunities 
• Actively contribute to the ongoing development and governance of our design system and component libraries, ensuring a high-quality, consistent user experience across the product ecosystem.

About You

• You have experience in SaaS organisations working in cross-functional teams
• You know which UX tools and processes to deploy against a given problem
• You can proactively contribute to elevating design maturity across the organisation
• You’re keen to collaborate with other designers within the design team to continually improve design consistency and quality across E1 products
• You’re able to contribute to the ongoing design and development of our design system
• You have the ability to deep dive into user problems to produce compelling solutions
• You combine product design craft with a systems mindset, understanding how each touchpoint fits into the wider service.

Salary range:

We’re transparent about salary ranges at E1, and that extends externally. Our salary range for this role is $140,000-$150,000 + super (depending on experience).
