Senior Product Controller APAC (F/M/D)

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a strong control infrastructure around the revenue generating capabilities of the firm. You’ll work closely with traders, compliance, and technology teams to ensure robust financial controls for trading flows, as well as ensuring compliance with local financial and regulatory requirements. Your insights and expertise will play a key role in driving accuracy, transparency, and efficiency across P&L reporting, trade lifecycle management, and independent valuation.

You should be a Product Controller with experience from a major bank or hedge fund alongside excellent project management skills, detail-oriented, a strategic mindset and strong communication skills.

Your Mission

• Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly profit and loss analyses for the trading business
• Reconcile P&L discrepancies by collaborating with trading desks, finance, operations, and tech teams
• Independent price verification
• Analyse and report the balance sheet and funding sources of the trading business
• Reserving methodologies, including provisions, valuation adjustments and prudential capital reserves
• Provide timely, high-quality reporting to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ensuring the correct controls and processes are in place to manage new and existing products
• To ensure that the relevant P&L and Balance sheet positions are correctly reported at month ends and that the applicable reconciliations have been completed and all issues identified/resolved

Requirements

Background & experience

• 5+ years relevant product controller experience dealing with complex and diverse trading strategies
• Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, CA/CFA/CMA)
• Experience in-house with a major financial services in a product control role
• Deep understanding of markets and instruments (OTC, digital assets, derivatives) as well as data capture requirements for books and records systems
• Confident in double entry accounting associated with products under their control
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships at all levels, including the Board
• Sound judgment and strong analytical skills, with a proactive and practical approach
• English is mandatory

• Passionate about cryptocurrency and blockchain
• Analytical thinker with the ability to understand problems, determine root cause and recommend appropriate solutions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, must be able to relate complex concepts in a concise and easy to understand manner
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects, often under tight time constraints
• Effectively work with peers, leadership, and stakeholders in a productive collaborative environment
• Being happy diving into detail, but also stepping back and putting the bigger picture at the forefront of decisions making
• Ability to understand and comply with confidentiality and privacy rules and protect company property and confidential information
• Knowledge of Web3 environment is a plus
