We’re looking for a Head of Procurement to head up our Procurement team in Munich, Germany

This role is crucial for our success, guaranteeing year-round high-quality produce, optimising profitability, and driving growth across our German region. You'll lead a high-performing team, develop strategic sourcing, leverage data for best deals, manage supplier relationships, and collaborate on new product opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a sourcing strategy to secure high-quality produce at optimal costs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to drive negotiation and performance optimization.
• Ensure ethical and sustainable sourcing practices in collaboration with Quality and CSR teams.
• Lead the development of a grower profile system to enhance supply chain transparency and decision-making.
• Conduct pricing analysis to secure a competitive advantage and optimize profitability.
• Develop data-driven pricing strategies based on market trends and supply-demand dynamics.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Oversee procurement protocols, ensuring best practices and regulatory compliance.
• Work cross-functionally to identify market trends and drive new product opportunities.
• Lead procurement reporting and analytics, providing insights for strategic decision-making.
• Build and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering collaboration and growth.
• Coach and mentor team members, identifying and nurturing future leaders.

Requirements

Essential Experience, Qualifications & Skills

• Strong background in Procurement of perishable products.
• Prior experience working within a leadership role, driving success.
• Must have prior experience working in the fresh produce industry, ideally within a supply chain, commercial or procurement setting.
• Strong understanding of the complexities of global supply chains, including import/export regulations and logistics.
• Complete fluency in English is mandatory.
• Experience in utilising data analysis to inform strategic sourcing.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional.
• Proven track record of achieving cost savings and optimizing profitability through strategic procurement practices

Desirable Experience, Qualifications & Skills

• Additional European languages with German, Spanish and Portuguese being hugely beneficial.
• A relevant degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field would be advantageous.
