Hycamite is now looking for a Senior Process Engineer
The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for developing and scaling Hycamite’s process technology to an industrial scale and commercializing it. This role involves the active participation in the planning and implementation of plant projects and supports the definition of strategic process solutions. In addition, the Senior Process Engineer leads a team of process engineers and is responsible for guiding and developing its activities and ensuring the team’s efforts align with Hycamite’s mission and technical goals.
Key responsibilities
Process development and scaling
Responsible for the development of the company's process technology for commercialization and further scaling on an industrial scale.
Plans and guides the process scaling strategy in collaboration with R&D, the project organization and external partners.
Participate in the further development of concepts and detailed design in the definition of technical solutions.
Projects and implementation
Act as the person responsible for process design in customer projects.
Ensure the safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of process solutions.
Support project managers in technical solutions and scheduling.
Supervisory duties
Lead a team of 2–4 process engineers.
Be responsible for managing the team's workload, developing their skills and participating in recruitment.
Coach and support the team with demanding technical solutions.
Documentation and reporting
Prepare and maintain process documentation (mass balance calculations, energy balances, technical calculations).
Report development and project results to management and stakeholders.
What we expect from you
Relevant university degree (e.g., process engineering, chemical engineering, energy engineering).
At least 7–10 years of experience in process industry design and development tasks.
Experience in scaling processes to industrial scale and commercial use.
Experience in team leadership roles.
Experience in international plant projects and working with contractors is an advantage.
Skills and qualifications
Technical expertise: Strong expertise in process design and development.
Strategic thinking: Ability to plan and guide the long-term development of process technology.
Leadership skills: Experience in leading and motivating teams.
Project management: Good understanding of the planning and implementation phases of plant projects.
Communication: Ability to communicate clearly at different organizational levels and in an international environment.
Language skills: Excellent English skills, other language skills are considered an advantage.
IT skills: Proficiency in simulation and calculation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or similar).
You will succeed in this role if you have an analytical and holistic approach to work and the ability to make decisions and take responsibility for demanding technical matters. You have good interpersonal and leadership skills. You are proactive, solution-oriented, and a strategic thinker. You are prepared to engage in international cooperation and are willing to travel.
