Senior Process Automation Specialist

Your role

We were growing fast over the last 13 years in 10 different countries and so did our teams and processes. But we don’t just want to be fast, we want to be smart about it, too. This is why we are seeking a Senior Process Automation Specialist to join our Centre of Excellence team to help us make our processes more efficient. In this role, you will be responsible for setting the standard for how we do automation at Fastned and help building our process architecture while at the same time still be hands-on in identifying, designing, and implementing automation solutions across Fastned’s business processes. This is a true “spider in the web” function as you will be collaborating with all of our wonderful teams and help them make their processes smarter.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Governance Automation Framework: You bring a strategic mindset and set the standard for how we do automation at Fastned. That means building and driving an organisation-wide governance framework from scratch and making sure our automation roadmap is tied directly to our overall company strategy.

• Process Analysis & Improvement: You'll map, analyse, and prioritise processes across the organisation while figuring out where the friction is, where the opportunity lies, and what's worth tackling first. From there, you lead improvement and automation projects end to end together with our Process Improvement & Continuous Improvement Specialists. 

• Hands-on Execution: When it comes to solution design, you lead and when needed, you can roll up your sleeves and get hands-on building, testing and deploying workflows. You stay curious about what's out there, keeping an eye on the latest automation and AI tools so we're always working with the best. You act as a trusted advisor to our diverse teams, facilitating workshops and training sessions on automation and process improvement best practices.

• Stakeholder Management: The Center of Excellence is at the core of our business, and so are you. That means you will build and maintain strong relationships with all of our different teams to make sure they get the best out of their work and processes. 

Who we are looking for

Are you someone who gets genuinely excited when a clunky process becomes a smooth one? If you also tick the boxes below, we'd love to have a chat.

• You've done this before. You bring 5 to 8 years of experience in process automation (and improvement), not only covering single processes but on a larger scale. Ideally you improved & automated processes on a company wide scope and you've thrived in a fast-moving, low-structure environment.

• You bring a strategic mindset to set the standards for our governance framework but at the same time are excited about working hands-on building & deploying workflows or hosting workshops to educate our teams.

• You fix the process before you automate it. You're analytical, you love a good process map, and you understand that automating a broken process just makes things break faster. Getting to the root of a problem is as satisfying to you as solving it.

• You show strong communication and collaboration skills as well as the ability to prioritize yourself in a high-growth environment.

• You're genuinely curious about AI. You follow what's happening in the GenAI and agentic automation space because you find it interesting, not because someone asked you to. You know what's useful, what's hype, and how to tell the difference.

• You know your tools. You are familiar with BPMN and RPA platforms like UiPath or Automation Anywhere, low-code tools like Make.com, Zapier, or n8n and middleware software like Workato. We also work with Sitetracker, NetSuite, ServiceNow and Databricks, so ideally you have worked with them before.

• You speak English fluently in a business environment, Dutch is a nice bonus.
