Senior/Principal Software Engineer (React)

Technology plays a central role in delivering secure, reliable, and compliant customer experiences. You will join a distributed, cross-functional team responsible for designing, building, and evolving modern web applications that support core banking and investment services. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively in a regulated environment. What you will do: - Design, develop, and maintain modern React-based web applications in line with security, performance, and compliance requirements. - Collaborate closely with product managers, business stakeholders, designers, backend engineers, and vendors to translate business and regulatory requirements into robust technical solutions. - Build clean, maintainable, and testable front-end code following best practices and established development standards. - Ensure applications meet non-functional requirements, including security, accessibility, performance, and cross-browser compatibility. -Work closely with QA and automation teams to ensure high test coverage and production readiness. - Support production systems, diagnose and resolve issues within defined SLAs, and communicate clearly with stakeholders when incidents arise.

Contribute to technical documentation and ensure system knowledge is shared across the team. -Stay up to date with modern front-end technologies and contribute to continuous improvement across the engineering team. What you will bring:  - 7+ years of professional experience in front-end development, with strong hands-on experience using React. - Excellent knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML, and modern CSS. - Strong experience building single-page applications and working with RESTful APIs. - Experience with modern React patterns (hooks, component composition, state management). - Solid understanding of secure web application development, particularly in regulated environments. - Experience ensuring accessibility (WCAG) and cross-browser compatibility. - Experience with front-end testing (unit and/or integration testing). - Proficiency with Git and modern development workflows. - Experience working in Agile / Scrum teams. - Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Nice to have:  - Experience working in banking, financial services, or other regulated industries. - Familiarity with backend technologies such as Java and integration with enterprise systems. - Experience with performance optimisation and monitoring of front-end applications. - Experience with data visualisation or charting libraries in JavaScript. - Experience with React Native. - Experience with accessibility-first design and implementation. - Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates.
