Position Overview

AE Works is seeking a Senior/Lead Plumbing / Fire Protection Designer to join our team.  As a Plumbing / Fire Protection Engineer at AE Works you will be responsible for work with our multi-discipline design teams on designing plumbing and fire protection systems for building projects.

Location: Arlington, VA or Pittsburgh, PA 

Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Execution: Perform design and drawings of plumbing and fire protection systems for building projects, both new construction and renovation, within various market segments. Develop drawings and specifications at each project submission
• Leadership & Team Development: Participate in meetings, internally and externally, to collaborate with other team members and Clients
• Team Collaboration: Coordinate drawing sets with the project team, including in-house architects, engineers, and interior designers as well as subconsultants
• Client Collaboration: Travel with team members for onsite collaboration and investigations

 Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years relevant design experience in the building industry. Project experience in healthcare, laboratories, higher education, government facilities preferred.
• Attributes: Exceptional communication and listening skills. Strong leadership and mentorship experience leading plumbing engineering and design projects.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Revit. High proficiency in using cloud based and mobile technology for collaboration.
• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in relevant field
• Certification: Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) credential preferred
