Make an Impact

As a Platform & Developer Experience Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of infrastructure excellence and developer productivity. You won’t just be managing cloud environments; you will be building the self-service platforms, internal tools, and the "Golden Path" that empowers hundreds of developers to ship software from Day 0 with zero friction.

You are a champion for software engineers, focused on slashing cognitive load and reducing environment setup times from days to minutes. You are a proactive collaborator who loves solving complex systemic problems, bringing a software engineering mindset to infrastructure, observability, and automation.

What you will be doing

Build the "Golden Path" & Internal Platforms

• Internal Developer Portal (IDP): Help design, build, and evolve our internal developer portal to provide a seamless, self-service experience for engineering teams.
• Self-Service Scaffolding: Build and maintain automated scaffolding and templates that let product teams safely spin up new services and remote development environments without operations bottlenecks.
• Modern Developer Workflows: Help integrate modern, AI-assisted development workflows and automated tooling to continuously improve engineering velocity metrics.

Platform Engineering & Product Evolution

• Build the Internal Platform: Contribute to the evolution of our internal platform and service catalogue, centralising documentation, service templates, and domain extension points to streamline onboarding, treating the platform as an internal product.
• Pave the Golden Path: Create and maintain standardised, automated workflows that abstract away underlying infrastructure complexity, allowing developers to focus purely on delivering business value.
• Reduce Cognitive Load: Continuously identify friction points in the daily software development lifecycle and build automated tooling to eliminate manual overhead and "ops" bottlenecks.

What you'll bring

• Technical Foundation: Familiarity or exposure to core cloud and container technologies (such as Azure and/or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, or GitHub Enterprise).
• Coding & Scripting Savvy: Proficiency in languages used across our ecosystem — typically Python, C#, TypeScript, or Bash.
• The DevEx Mindset: A strong empathy for software developers and a passion for building internal tools, platforms, or automation that improves the daily lives of engineering teams.
• Architectural Awareness: A solid understanding of modern software patterns, including microservices, API standards, or event-driven concepts.
• Collaborative Spirit: High emotional intelligence with a “team-first” approach. You are open to giving and receiving feedback in a safe, inclusive environment.
• Execution Focus: The ability to plan and execute tasks effectively, balancing speed with high-quality, maintainable solutions.
