We’re looking for a strategic and empathetic People Partner ready to step into their first team leadership position.
In this role, you’ll report directly to our Chief People Officer, balancing hands-on People business partnering with leading a small, agile People Operations team.
You’ll be the go-to partner for managers and teams on all people matters, while also fostering operational excellence and team development across the employee lifecycle.
People Partnering & Strategy
Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders and managers on organizational design, team dynamics, and workforce planning
Drive HR initiatives aligned with business goals, such as performance enablement, talent calibration, and engagement strategies
Coach managers on people leadership, feedback, and development practices
Partner with leadership on change management and communication strategies
Closely cooperate with your peers in Talent Acquisition to ensure a seamless, holistic People experience across the employee journey
People Operations Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop a team of 2 People Operations Specialists based in Berlin
Oversee day-to-day People operations, ensuring consistent, compliant, and efficient processes across onboarding, offboarding, contracts, benefits, and more for all employees based in Europe (mainly Germany)
Champion operational excellence, automation, and process improvement across the employee lifecycle
Own and optimize Personio, systems, and data accuracy
5+ years of experience in HR, including solid experience as an HR Business Partner or People Partner
Passion for coaching and people development, with the desire to step into a first-time lead role
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and influence across all levels
Solid understanding of HR fundamentals: employment law, HRIS, performance management, comp & benefits, etc.
Experience managing complex employee relations topics with sound judgment and empathy and an entrepreneurial mindset
Analytical mindset – you bring insights from people data to influence decisions
Fluency in German and English
Nice-to-Haves
Experience in a fast-scaling environment or start-up/scale-up culture
Previous informal leadership (e.g., mentoring, project leadership)
Exposure to international HR practices or distributed teams
Familiarity with tools like Personio or similar
We work in a flexible hybrid model at GotPhoto, leveraging the best of both worlds, with our office at Hausvogteiplatz serving as our central hub for collaboration in Berlin
