Senior Payroll Analyst (4 PM – 1 AM IST Shift)
TLDR
Drive accurate US payroll processing and compliance across multi-state and Canadian employees, ensuring seamless operations and adherence to regulations while collaborating with diverse teams.
You will:
- Lead full‑cycle bi‑monthly payroll processing for multi‑state US employees and CA employees, ensuring accuracy for all pay types including regular, overtime, bonuses, commissions, retro payouts, and one‑time transactions
- Conduct rigorous pre‑ and post‑payroll audits to verify pay, taxes, deductions, and compliance prior to disbursement.
- Reconcile payroll results with HRIS data and general ledger, ensuring alignment with accounting and finance requirements.
- Maintain deep knowledge of US payroll compliance requirements including federal, state, and local tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and reporting obligations.
- Prepare and support payroll tax filings, compliance reports, and audits, and assist with remediation of tax notices and discrepancies.
- Ensure accurate handling of garnishments, benefit deductions, and statutory withholdings in payroll processes
- Senior Payroll Analyst liaison with third‑party payroll vendors, tax advisors, and compliance partners, ensuring SLAs are met and issues are resolved efficiently.
- Develop and maintain strong payroll process documentation countrywise, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal controls
- Partner with HR, Finance, Accounting, Legal, Benefits and People Operations teams to ensure seamless payroll operations and alignment with business needs.
- Provide expert payroll support to employees and internal teams, responding to inquiries and resolving issues with professionalism and accuracy
- Prepare and present analytical payroll reports and insights to Leadership.
- Experience with equity compensation, stock plans, or global payroll processes
- Prior experience in SOX / internal controls environments or payroll transformation projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 8+ years of progressive payroll experience, with a strong emphasis on multi‑state US payroll processing and compliance
- Hands‑on experience with enterprise payroll systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, Rippling)
- Advanced proficiency in payroll systems, Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, tight deadlines, and high‑volume payroll cycles
- Payroll certification such as CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of US payroll regulations (FLSA, 401k, Garnishment, payroll related benefits deductions, IRS guidelines, multi-state tax compliance).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- This role is hybrid (3 days a week in our Bangalore office)
- This role has a shift from 4 PM – 1 AM IST
