Our client, a leader in enterprise technology solutions, is seeking a Senior Node.js Engineer with Next.js to join their development team. The team is responsible for enhancing and expanding an integrated delivery and collaboration platform for the internal system of the US client, which facilitates cross-team collaboration, real-time transparency, and data-driven decision-making. The system provides users with critical information whenever they want it to make informative decisions. It provides a vast library of assets, automation and generative AI-powered tools.
This is a remote-first position for engineers based in in Europe, Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, or the Americas with a required overlap of US working hours (2-6 PM CET).
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will:
Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and Next.js.
Perform code reviews and ensure high-quality coding standards.
Define and evaluate best practices for software development.
Implement design patterns and explain their value in the development process.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive efficient and innovative solutions.
Work in an Agile environment, planning work daily and proactively addressing blockers.
Utilize Azure DevOps and Git for source control and CI/CD pipelines.
7+ years of backend development experience in Node.js/Next.js.
Knowledge of MongoDB (Document DB) including schema design, indexing, and performance optimization.
Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
Knowledge of RESTful APIs and GraphQL, including security and query performance tuning.
Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services (Azure Service Bus and Event Hub).
Ability to work in an Agile environment, resolve development blockers, and escalate issues when necessary.
Very good English for daily communication.
Ability to work within US time zone overlap (2-6 PM CET).
Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
Proactive attitude – ability to communicate effectively, escalate issues early, and support teammates.
Ability to help others and work efficiently in a team.
Clear and structured approach to problem-solving.
