As a Network Engineer at Lyft, you'll play a pivotal role in our Corporate Engineering team, reporting directly to the Manager of Corporate Engineering. Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and resilient network solutions to support the company's business objectives. We have a cloud first mentality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess network requirements and develop strategic plans and documents for network infrastructure enhancements
• Proactively identify and address network performance issues, security vulnerabilities, and emerging technologies to ensure optimal network reliability and security
• Lead network-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments, from conception to completion
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including network diagrams, configuration details, and standard operating procedures
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the network engineering team
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in networking and security
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to network-related incidents and outages as needed
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers to evaluate and implement new technologies and solutions
• Educate and provide CEIT leadership with requirements to address gaps leading to overall network resiliency
• Must be willing to travel to HQ Sites

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in network engineering roles, with a strong background in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade networks.
• Proven experience as a technical lead, guiding network architecture decisions, mentoring team members, and leading end-to-end project delivery.
• Deep expertise in routing and switching protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and VPN technologies (TailScale mesh experience is a plus)
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Aruba networking equipment and technologies
• Strong knowledge of network security best practices, including firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and secure access controls
• Proficient with monitoring and management tools like LogicMonitor, Netbox, or similar platforms
• Experience managing hybrid environments across AWS cloud infrastructure, standardized HQs, and non-standard retail sites

Starting in September 2023, this role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.

The expected range of pay for this position in the Seattle area and has a salary range of 117,760-147,200. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
