The Role:
The Senior Network Engineer role is based within the Americas Hosted Data Centre department in Trumbull, CT. The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining ION's regional and global infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
Deploy network infrastructure following established design standards.
Perform general maintenance on routers, switches and firewalls.
Troubleshoot issues in a complex Internet/Extranet environment.
Interact professionally with customers and vendors to determine design requirements.
Provide Level 1 through Level 4 network support.
Participate in on-call rotation.
Provide occasional 1st level server support such as racking and disk swaps.
Occasional travel to remote Fidessa Data Centres in the Chicago Area.
International Travel to Canada, Mexico, Chile and Brazil (2 weeks a year).
Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
6+ years of network engineering experience in an enterprise environment.
Experience configuring Arista routers/switches in both traditional backbone/access layers as well as spine and leaf.
Proficient configuring Juniper routers, switches and firewalls via command line interface.
Enterprise experience with firewalls such as Checkpoint, Juniper SRX, Palo Alto.
In-Depth knowledge of routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, PIM, RIP.
In-Depth knowledge of Layer2 protocols: STP, 802.1q, VPC, LACP.
Experience in hybrid cloud integration and cloud networking.
Must have knowledge of traffic engineering and QoS.
Proficient with configuring and troubleshooting IPSEC VPNs.
Proficient with network packet capture and analysis.
Proficient with creating network diagrams with MS Visio.
A thorough understanding of TCP/IP.
Experience working with Network Monitoring Systems e.g. PRTG, Nagios.
Clear, accurate and concise written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail.
Good time management and planning skills.
Demonstrated technical leadership skills.
Organized and able to use initiative to prioritize work and able to adapt to changing workload priorities.

Must have an automobile and be able to drive to Trumbull, CT office.
Desired Skills:
Arista ACE-L3, CCIE, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
Experience with network automation a plus.
Experience with automation: Ansible, Python, etc a plus.
Fintech, finance, banking experience is a huge plus.
