The role
We are seeking a Senior Mobile Software Engineer to join the Member Growth engineering team at SoFi. Flutter experience is preferred, but not strictly required. As a member of the Member Growth engineering organization, you will own and evolve mobile foundations that power acquisition, activation, experimentation, and measurement across SoFi’s app ecosystem.
This role is hands-on and execution-focused, with ownership over well-scoped mobile initiatives. You will work closely with Product, Design, and partner engineering teams to deliver high-quality mobile experiences that directly impact member growth. The ideal candidate is collaborative, product-minded, and pragmatic, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for the quality of both the code and finished product.

What you’ll do
- Design, develop, and test high-quality Flutter mobile features and components.
- Translate product requirements and user stories into clear, maintainable mobile implementations.
- Own delivery of medium-to-large features from development through release.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to ship growth initiatives.
- Participate in code reviews and design discussions, contributing to team quality and consistency/
- Support other engineers through design and code reviews, pairing programming, and knowledge sharing.
- Identify opportunities to improve mobile reliability, performance, and developer experience.
- Take initiative and produce timely results in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies and interface with team members to bring a product idea to fruition in the mobile app.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in a technical field, but we understand great engineers. come from all sorts of different backgrounds and also consider relevant work experience.
- 4+ years mobile programming experience (iOS/Android/Flutter).
- 2+ years of programming on the Flutter framework.
- Good understanding of mobile frameworks, client-server architectural patterns.
- Strong sense of ownership; driving a project from inception to completion.
- Pragmatic approach towards handling tech debt versus shipping new features.
- Experience operating as a technical owner in a collaborative engineering environment, leading code reviews, influencing design and implementation decisions, and consistently raising the bar for code quality, testing, and maintainability.
Nice to have
- Full-stack experience including mobile client DB and local storage (SQLite, Core Data), caching and offline strategies.
- Experience contributing to shared mobile libraries or components.
- Experience working on experimentation-heavy products and mobile product launches to a large audience.
- Familiarity with mobile performance tuning and instrumentation.
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
