What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable messaging solutions using Kafka
• Manage Kafka clusters, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with software development teams to integrate Kafka messaging solutions into applications
• Optimize Kafka performance and ensure high availability and reliability of messaging systems
• Implement security best practices for Kafka, including encryption and access control
• Develop and maintain documentation for Kafka systems and related processes
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
• Stay up to date with the latest developments in messaging technologies and propose improvements
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for production systems as needed

What’s required

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in messaging systems, with at least 5 years focused on Kafka
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and data streaming concepts
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala
• Experience with Kafka ecosystem components like Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, and KSQL
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
