The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical leadership in the development of technologies, products, and processes to meet quality, cost, schedule and performance goals. This role is responsible for the implementation of lean manufacturing principles to improve productivity and capacity requirements of the manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, lead, and implement productivity and capacity improvement projects that deliver measurable results, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Apply technical expertise in the development and improvement of products and/or processes: develop new technology, initiate design changes to improve process or product performance, and solve complex production problems.   involves development or application of new technology or extension of current technology. 
  • Act as project leader on major programs and projects, interacting with other functional groups, customers, and vendors to coordinate technical matters.
  • Prepare detailed plans, which may span over a year, necessary to complete work on programs or complex projects, including schedule milestones, costs and performance goals, and manpower, facility and equipment capacity requirements. 
  • Administer technical policies and procedures.
  • Recommend improvements to cost, quality, or schedule administration procedures.
  • Develop industrial engineering systems (standard cost systems, capacity and equipment requirement forecasting systems, shop floor control).
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience; or PhD with no prior experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience using data analytics to inform decisions and drive insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools, databases, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
