Senior Manual, Cognos & DB Test Engineer

ProArch is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manual, Cognos & DB Test Engineer to join our quality assurance team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough manual testing of Cognos reports and database systems to ensure data accuracy, performance, and security. Your expertise will contribute to delivering high-quality business intelligence solutions that empower our clients' decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and execute comprehensive manual test plans and test cases for Cognos reports and database applications.
• Perform data validation and verification across various data sources to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with business analysts and developers to understand requirements and identify testing needs.
• Identify, document, and track defects, and work with the development team for resolution.
• Conduct regression testing to confirm that changes do not adversely affect existing functionality.
• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of test cases, results, and defect reports.
• Provide feedback and recommendations for improving testing processes and tools.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• 8+ years of experience in manual testing, particularly with Cognos and database systems.
• Strong understanding of Cognos report development and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience in SQL for database testing and data validation.
• Knowledge of ETL processes and tools is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Experience in Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
