Downtown Music Publishing is seeking to bring on a Senior Manager to our Sync Licensing department. While at Downtown you will be working with the Director of Sync Licensing in all areas of synchronization licensing and administrative functions for Downtown Music Publishing’s expansive catalog.

This role can based in our New York, Los Angeles, or Nashville locations

What you'll do: 

  • Manage and lead a small team responsible for handling synchronization quotes and licensing requests
  • Oversee the negotiations of synchronization terms and fees across advertising, film, television, video games, and new media
  • Collaborate closely with the Client Services department to secure internal approvals for synchronization quote requests
  • Review and issue synchronization quotes and license agreements to third parties, ensuring compliance with copyright and licensing requirements
  • Track and follow-up on outstanding quotes, confirmed uses and request cue sheets as needed
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to streamline and improve the quote approval process
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to maximize the exploitation of Downtown’s diverse music catalog
  • Manage multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with licensing requirements
  • Perform additional ad hoc duties as assigned

You are / have: 

  • 5+ years of experience in music licensing, synchronization, or rights management preferably at a music publisher, label or third party synchronization agent or related company
  • Experience supervising and supporting a small team, including workflow management and performance oversight
  • Solid understanding of music publishing, sync licensing and copyright
  • Efficient leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • A drive to learn and grow with a positive attitude

Downtown Music provides base salary ranges for all positions located in the United States at the time of posting. The hiring range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 annually. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon various factors including, but not limited to, work experience, geographic location and relevant skills. Downtown is committed to providing a comprehensive market-competitive total rewards program for its employees which includes medical, dental, and vision, life insurance, 401(k) match and generous paid time off. This range does not include any other variable compensation components.
