Senior Manager of Publishing

AI overview

Oversee and elevate publishing operations, managing a small team while ensuring high-quality content delivery across digital platforms.

Hey there, Future Senior Manager of Publishing @ Better Collective! 👋

Our mission is to be the world’s leading digital sports media company, making sports entertainment more engaging and transparent for fans worldwide. Better Collective is home to some of the most influential sports and betting media brands, including Action Network, Playmaker, BolaVIP, HLTV, and Yardbarker, reaching millions of fans every day across digital, social, video, and audio platforms.

We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Publishing to oversee and elevate all publishing operations across Playmaker’s network. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of content operations, platform expertise, and team management, ensuring our content is published accurately, consistently, and at scale.

You’ll manage a small but impactful team, partner closely with Account Management and Production, and serve as our in-house expert across YouTube, social, and audio platforms.

You’ll report directly to Morgan Allison and play a key role in shaping how our content reaches audiences across platforms.

This role is for you if…

You’re highly organized, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure, the kind of person who enjoys bringing structure to fast-moving environments. You care deeply about quality and consistency, and you know that great content performance starts with excellent publishing execution.

You’re comfortable leading a team, collaborating cross-functionally, and making data-informed recommendations to improve workflows, performance, and efficiency. You’re excited by platforms, formats, and experimentation, and you’re always looking for smarter ways to scale content.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Here are some of the ways you’ll contribute to our mission:

  • Own all daily and weekly publishing operations across Playmaker’s content network.

  • Lead and manage a team of two Publishing Coordinators, providing guidance, prioritization, and support.

  • Ensure accurate and consistent execution of titles, thumbnails, posting schedules, and platform best practices.

  • Partner closely with Account Management to guarantee clean and accurate sponsorship integrations.

  • Act as the internal expert across YouTube, social media, and audio platforms, proactively testing and optimizing new strategies.

  • Collaborate with Production to ensure smooth handoffs from edit to publish, while maintaining quality and timelines.

  • Support QA processes by reviewing final exports and published content for accuracy.

  • Monitor performance and contribute to platform reports, recaps, and optimization insights.

  • Support experiments such as A/B testing titles and thumbnails, new formats, and discoverability tactics.

  • Assist with special releases, live episodes, or re-edits when needed.

The Ideal Profile: Is This You?

Here’s what helps people succeed in this role:

  • 3–4+ years of experience in content operations, podcast publishing, or digital media production.

  • Deep familiarity with YouTube Studio and podcast hosting platforms (e.g. Megaphone, Acast, OMNY).

  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and time-management skills.

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.

  • Experience collaborating across teams such as Production, Marketing, and Account Management.

  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a passion for content and storytelling.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience publishing branded or sponsored content.

  • Familiarity with audio and video production workflows.

  • Analytical mindset and interest in performance data and audience growth.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and curiosity for emerging content formats.

  • Passion for sports, podcasts, and digital media.
