Virta Health is on a mission to reverse metabolic disease in one billion people. Current treatment approaches aren’t working—over half of US adults have either type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, and obesity rates are at an all-time high. Virta is changing this by helping people reverse their metabolic condition through innovations in technology, personalized nutrition, and virtual care delivery reinvented from the ground up. We have raised over $350 million from top-tier investors, and partner with the largest health plans, employers, and government organizations to help their employees and members restore their health and take back their lives. Join us on our mission to reverse metabolic disease in one billion people.
We’re looking for a senior leader who doesn’t accept the status quo in healthcare and believes people deserve better access to care that actually works. This role is designed with broad scope, decision-making authority, and accountability, with ownership of Virta’s largest and most complex health plan and national partners. You’ll lead growth across these high-impact relationships while also building and leading a small team of Growth Managers.
This is a player/coach role that combines senior individual contribution with people leadership. You’ll personally own some of Virta’s most complex and high-impact health plan accounts and lead key launches, while developing Growth Managers toward greater autonomy, stronger consultative skills, and increased ownership.
You’ll help the team stay focused on what matters most to Virta’s mission: helping more people access care that can reverse metabolic disease. By working closely with health plan partners and teammates, you’ll help align priorities, guide decisions, and support growth in ways that increase enrollment, improve outcomes, and expand Virta’s impact at scale.
Responsibilities
Lead a high-performing Health Plan and National Accounts Growth Manager team, providing direction and senior leadership across the pod.
Own a portfolio of Virta’s largest health plan partners across Fully Insured, Medicaid, and Medicare Advantage, contributing as a senior individual contributor alongside the team.
Build trusted relationships with health plan and strategic partners, leading partners through key decisions that drive enrollment, outcomes, and Virta’s impact at scale.
Partner with clients to expand member access to Virta, helping them move beyond traditional vendor approaches and adopt paths that increase reach, drive enrollment, and improve outcomes.
Bring perspective across accounts and partner closely with Growth, Product, Clinical, and Marketing teams to help Virta focus time and resources on the work that drives the greatest member impact, outcomes, and scale.
Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:
Ramp quickly on Virta’s Health Plan and National Account approach, taking ownership of priorities and providing direction for the team.
Lead upcoming launches and growth efforts for Virta’s highest-impact health plan and national partners, helping teams and clients align on the decisions that drive strong enrollment and outcomes.
Support Growth Managers in strengthening their consultative approach, decision-making, and focus on the work that most influences enrollment.
Build strong internal and external relationships across key Health Plan and ASO accounts, including Virta’s largest and most strategic partners.
Step into important client conversations where senior leadership helps move decisions forward and supports shared enrollment and ROI goals.
Must-Haves
7+ years of experience in client-facing roles within digital health, health plans, or healthcare services, with a track record of owning outcomes in complex, high-growth environments.
Experience working with regulated healthcare (Fully Insured, Medicare, Medicaid), with the ability to navigate constraints thoughtfully while helping partners move forward.
Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams, supporting strong decision-making, prioritization, and increasing ownership over time.
Experience owning and growing complex accounts, influencing partner decisions through clear reasoning and data tied to shared goals.
Comfort operating in ambiguity and making sound decisions that bring focus to what matters most.
Strong relationship-building skills across clients and cross-functional partners, with the ability to collaborate effectively at senior levels.
A mission-driven mindset, with a consistent focus on outcomes that improve access to care and meaningfully impact members’ lives.
Virta’s company values drive our culture, so you’ll do well if:
You put people first and take care of yourself, your peers, and our patients equally
