Position: 

The  Senior Manager of Medical Affairs (MA) Operations - Neurology / Ophthalmology will be integral to supporting the neurology and ophthalmology Medical Affairs Teams by managing and executing key projects within the neurology and ophthalmology therapeutic areas (TAs). This role includes coordinating with external vendors, planning meetings, and ensuring compliance with contract processes. This individual will be a key member of the leadership team overseeing the entire portfolio of Annexon Medical Affairs activities and pipeline, requiring a deep understanding of pharmaceutical operations and strategic planning. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Collaborate with MA TA VPs, MSL Team Leads, and Medical Director(s) to plan and execute projects aligned with therapeutic area objectives. 
  • Manage relationships with meeting planning/logistics vendors, MLR program vendors, medical education agencies, and CRM agencies, to support MA activities in neurology and ophthalmology. 
  • Support planning and execution of onsite and offsite meetings for internal and external stakeholders, including departmental All Hands meetings, field medical meetings, advisory boards, and congress-based activities 
  • Operationalize congress activities and partner with legal on contracting for various activities such as society sponsorships, exhibit planning, and group/1:1 KOL engagements. 
  • Liaise with the Contracts Team to ensure timely submission and full execution of all contracts. Implement processes for submitting and tracking consultant contracts to ensure compliance. 
  • Support compliance with Annexon policies, including but not limited to submission of advisory board approval requests to Legal. 
  • Work with the VPs of MA to develop the annual tactical plan and budget. Track budget performance quarterly. 

Education, Experience, and Skills: 

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a functional biopharma operations role (e.g., medical affairs, commercial, R&D, other) managing activities with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to represent Annexon MA with key stakeholders. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical product development, cross-functional roles, and key external stakeholders. 
  • Expertise in project management, resource planning/management, and common digital platforms in fast-paced and dynamic settings to achieve results based on key performance indicators. 
  • Self-driven, with demonstrated ability to make informed decisions and solve problems with sound judgment. 
  • Cross-functional collaboration expertise. 
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred. 

Salary Range: $156,000 - $173,500

Location: Annexon Biosciences is located in Brisbane, California and preference is given to candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area.
