We’re searching for a Senior Manager of Government Relations to enhance Aurora’s regulatory engagements as we scale and grow our business. We’re looking for people who are as excited as we are to solve complex policy challenges around transportation and autonomy and make a positive impact on our future. This person will be based in Washington DC (Remote).

In this role, you will

  • Serve as a key member of the government relations advocacy team to deepen Aurora’s public policy impact in Washington DC.
  • Implement and scale innovative federal policy initiatives and educational programs.
  • Develop strong relationships with regulatory stakeholders to increase support of Aurora’s mission and advocate to achieve Aurora’s policy goals. Serve as an on-the-ground liaison between these stakeholders and Aurora, updating them on new company innovations, economic investments, and assisting with any relevant regulatory inquiries including requests for issue briefings. 
  • Assist strengthening key public policy operations and identifying new opportunities around regulatory stakeholder contacts and outreach, trade association workstreams, and campus visits.
  • Support the company at relevant trade associations and coalitions advocacy work. Participate in these organizations’ activities as appropriate. 
  • Monitor the Executive Branch for legislation and regulations impacting autonomous vehicle operations. 
  • Collaborate with internal partners to support company goals developing company positions on pending regulations that could impact the company.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+years of relevant experience working with federal government officials or trade associations.
  • Strong understanding of legislative, regulatory and electoral processes.
  • Prior experience designing and managing a variety of stakeholder engagement programs.
  • Detail oriented self-starter with project management skills - comfortable working within fluid, dynamic and ambiguous environments.
  • Excellent communicator in written and verbal form; ability to collaborate with executives, and able to lead and influence across multiple levels and multiple functions of an organization.
  • A strong team player with impeccable execution skills.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Proficiency in G Suite, including docs, slides, sheets


The base salary range for this position is $162,000 - $234,000 per year.  Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
