Senior Manager - Field Inventory

DSI Systems Inc., an authorized AT&T partner and the nation’s largest home services distributor, is seeking a Senior Manager – Field Inventory to own the end-to-end strategy, execution, and governance of field inventory across a large, distributed technician network. This role defines inventory standards, lifecycle processes, and controls to ensure serialized and non-serialized assets are accurately tracked, properly positioned, and aligned with operational demand. Serving as the central point of accountability for field inventory health, this leader partners closely with procurement, field operations, analytics, and other stakeholders to balance availability, cost, and efficiency.

The Senior Manager – Field Inventory drives visibility and continuous improvement through data-driven insights, standardized reporting, and disciplined execution. This role enables field offices to actively manage inventory by establishing clear targets, dashboards, and governance processes while coordinating rebalancing efforts to reduce excess, resolve shortages, and minimize shrinkage. Success requires strong cross-functional leadership, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the overall field inventory strategy across all technician offices and field technicians, including establishing target inventory levels and days-on-hand standards at the technician, office and company-wide levels
  • Design, implement, and enforce standardized processes for tracking serialized and non-serialized inventory throughout its full lifecycle, including receipt, deployment, transfer, recovery, and disposition
  • Partner with procurement and ordering teams to align replenishment models and ordering behavior with defined inventory targets and operational demand
  • Collaborate with analytics and utilize reporting technologies to define requirements and support the development of dashboards and reporting that provide clear visibility into inventory levels, usage, aging, and risk
  • Enable field offices to actively manage inventory by providing actionable insights, clear standards, and consistent reporting tools
  • Coordinate inventory rebalancing efforts across technicians and offices, including reducing excess inventory, resolving shortages, and facilitating transfers to optimize utilization
  • Establish governance, audit, and escalation processes to ensure inventory accuracy, accountability, and compliance across the field organization
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce excess inventory, minimize shrinkage, and improve overall inventory efficiency

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing inventory operations at scale within a highly distributed or field-based environment
  • Strong background in inventory process design, controls, and lifecycle management for both serialized and non-serialized assets
  • Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally with procurement, credit, logistics, analytics, and field operations teams
  • Data-driven mindset with experience defining reporting requirements and translating inventory insights into operational action
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence field and corporate stakeholders without direct authority
  • Experience working with inventory management systems, ERP platforms, or similar field service tools
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a strong focus on accuracy, accountability, and operational continuity
  • Experience with Five9, Domo, and WebTracker preferred
