The Senior Manager of Business Development leads the Business Development team in driving growth and Impact for the Mable group by crafting and executing strategies closely aligned with the organisation's strategic goals. This role focuses on attracting, cultivating, and retaining high-calibre, high-impact professionals across various roles within the business development team. It also entails setting clear objectives for the team and actively steering their performance to achieve impactful outcomes.

The role supports multiple brands across the Mable Group.

As a sales leader you'll be responsible for:

Leadership and Vision

  • Develop and communicate a clear, inspiring vision for the Business Development team that is aligned with the overall business goals
  • Translate strategic vision into actionable plans and objectives  
  • Conduct regular analysis of market trends, competitors and internal capability to formulate a well-defined growth strategy 
  • Set specific objectives, identifying target markets, and allocating resources effectively
  • Foster a supportive and empowering environment that encourages professional growth and development
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and address performance issues promptly and effectively.
  • Facilitate team-building activities, encourage knowledge sharing, and promote cross-team collaboration.

Commercial and Strategic Direction

  • Develop and communicate a clear, inspiring vision for the Business Development team that is aligned with the overall business goals
  • Translate strategic vision into actionable plans and objectives  
  • Conduct regular analysis of market trends, competitors and internal capability to formulate a well-defined growth strategy 
  • Set specific objectives, identifying target markets, and allocating resources effectively 

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients 
  • Anticipate clients' needs and work collaboratively to address them proactively 
  • Curate a deep understanding of the customer's needs and align growth strategy to meet those needs 
  • Actively seek and utilise customer feedback to enhance the sales process 
  • Drive a customer-centric approach throughout the sales team 
  • Represent the Mable group in relevant forums, conferences, and meetings to promote our mission and services

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated track record leading and growing high performing teams to deliver and exceed ever-ambitious sales targets
  • Self-directed and entrepreneurial, with experience and a passion for building out new teams and markets
  • Excellent communication skills and business judgement, with a demonstrated ability to engage credibly and confidently with senior executives
  • Experience building and maintaining a culture of high performance, strong accountability, deep customer empathy, and successful teamwork 
  • Strong understanding of the disability or aged care sectors is advantageous but is not essential
