Key Responsibilities

Client & Account Leadership

  • Lead strategic communications programmes across corporate and technology clients, consumer brands, and government-linked organisations and public-sector stakeholders.

  • Serve as senior client advisor, providing high-level communications counsel and stakeholder management.

  • Oversee account delivery, quality, timelines, budgets, and profitability.

  • Lead client presentations, strategic planning sessions, and programme reviews.

  • Manage complex stakeholder environments including government bodies, regulators, and industry partners.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior media, journalists, influencers, and industry stakeholders across Malaysia.

Integrated Communications Strategy & Advisory

  • Lead the development of integrated communications strategies aligned to client business, reputation, and stakeholder objectives.

  • Provide senior advisory across corporate positioning, thought leadership, reputation management, and brand storytelling.

  • Guide multi-channel programme design across earned, owned, shared, and influencer engagement frameworks.

  • Advise clients on regulatory, reputational, and market developments impacting communications strategies.

  • Oversee crisis and issues management planning and provide senior strategic counsel where required.

  • Partner with regional teams to design and deliver multi-market integrated campaigns.

Malaysia Market Media & Influencer Leadership

  • Lead earned media engagement strategies by leveraging strong relationships with journalists, editors, and key media stakeholders across Malaysia.

  • Drive development of locally relevant story angles and media outreach strategies that reflect Malaysian audience and cultural nuances.

  • Oversee influencer/KOL engagement frameworks, including talent selection strategy, engagement governance, and performance measurement.

  • Ensure communications programmes align with Malaysia regulatory, cultural, and language considerations across Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Chinese media environments.

  • Guide teams in developing strong local media and influencer networks to support sustained programme delivery.

Business Development & Market Growth

  • Drive revenue growth through both client expansion and new business development.

  • Lead or contribute to pitch development, proposal writing, and client presentations.

  • Identify market opportunities across key growth sectors including technology, financial services, corporate reputation, and government communications.

  • Partner with regional leadership to strengthen PRecious Communications’ Malaysia market positioning.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the team

  • Drive strong team delivery standards, mentoring, and performance development.

  • Support onboarding and capability-building initiatives.

  • Promote collaboration across Malaysia and regional teams.

AI & Digital Communications Leadership

  • Champion the responsible use of AI and digital tools to enhance insights, storytelling, and campaign effectiveness.

  • Guide teams in adopting new communications technologies and workflow improvements.

REQUIREMENTS

Must-Have

  • Minimum 9 years of experience in PR, corporate communications, or integrated communications within agency or consultancy environments.

  • Strong experience leading integrated communications programmes across earned media, digital, influencer, and content strategies.

  • Strong understanding of the Malaysia media ecosystem, including English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Chinese-language media landscapes.

  • Experience working with government-linked companies, regulators, ministries, or public-sector stakeholders in Malaysia.

  • Demonstrated success contributing to revenue growth through client expansion or business development.

  • Strong client leadership and senior stakeholder management experience.

  • Experience working on regional or multi-market communications programmes.

  • Excellent writing and presentation skills in English.
