Senior Management Accountant

Ashby-de-la-Zouch , United Kingdom
full-time Hybrid

TLDR

Collaborate with UK & Ireland operational leaders to provide financial support, leading P&L meetings and managing financial analysis and reporting for branches.

Are you looking to take the next step in your finance career by supporting a group of branches and becoming a trusted business partner to operational leaders? We’re hiring a Senior Management Accountant who can blend solid financial fundamentals with proactive support to our Service team - someone who’s ready to add value through insight and analysis, while also staying grounded in the essential routine tasks that keep our reporting accurate.

You’ll start by gaining a strong grounding in our finance processes and service organisation, then gradually move into leading P&L calls and supporting the Business Controller in driving performance.

You’ll work closely with the UK & Ireland Business Controller and form part of a small, supportive finance team. The role also offers clear progression into broader controlling responsibilities as your confidence and capability develops.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing branch-level financial support and guidance across the UK and Ireland, ensuring accurate reporting and clear insight for operational leaders
  • Facilitating monthly P&L meetings with branches, supporting managers in understanding their results while they retain ownership of the P&L
  • Contributing to the budgeting process and supporting local branches with forecasting and financial planning
  • Analysing productivity and utilisation of front-line operatives and highlighting trends or issues to operational teams
  • Preparing monthly management accounts packs with clear, concise commentary
  • Preparing monthend reporting packs with independent, period‑driven commentary that highlights key movements, trends and issues for stakeholders
  • Completing essential month-end tasks, including balance sheet reconciliations, journals, data checks, and cost reallocations
  • Assisting with internal and external audit requirements, ensuring strong financial control and documentation
  • Maintaining Power BI dashboards and providing support to key users, ensuring reports remain accurate and up to date
  • Supporting OneStream reporting processes, helping maintain data accuracy and completeness

What We’re Looking For

  • As a minimum: Part‑qualified ACCA/CIMA, with at least 3-5 years management accounting experience
  • A proactive finance professional with the ability to identify issues and work on their own initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and confidently, with a track record of constructively challenging and influencing operational teams
  • Detail‑focused, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent Excel skills; comfortable working with existing Power BI and system reports
  • SAP experience is helpful but not essential
  • Periodic travel to UK and Ireland branches as required
