Position Summary:
Join our mission to bring cutting-edge voice AI into healthcare as a Senior Telephony Infrastructure Engineer. We are looking for an experienced engineer with deep expertise in SIP, real-time communications, and cloud telephony infrastructure to build the foundational voice platform that powers our AI-driven products.
In this role you will be responsible for designing and building greenfield telephony infrastructure, including SIP trunking, real-time audio streaming, and call routing, to deliver a programmable voice platform on top of Amazon Connect and our ECS-based voice stack. You will own the infrastructure layer from carrier connectivity through to the handoff where our voice AI agents take over. The ideal candidate has stood up production telephony systems, understands SIP inside and out, and is excited to build scalable real-time infrastructure in a healthcare setting. Responsibilities:
Design, build, and operate greenfield SIP trunking infrastructure connecting carrier-grade telephony to our internal voice AI platform.
Architect and implement real-time bidirectional audio streaming pipelines to support our ECS-based voice stack.
Design autoscaling strategies for stateful, connection-based workloads, enabling the platform to scale dynamically based on connection ingress and concurrent call volume.
Implement call routing, inbound/outbound dialing flows, and media transport (RTP/SRTP).
Integrate with Amazon Connect to bridge carrier connectivity into our custom infrastructure.
Collaborate with ML engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the telephony layer meets the needs of our voice AI systems.
Ensure outbound dialing infrastructure complies with TCPA regulations and supports STIR/SHAKEN attestation.
