Why This Role is Exciting
We are looking for an experienced, operational M&A Integration Lead to drive the post-acquisition lifecycle for a series of strategic moves: multiple product-focused tuck-ins and a significant scale-up acquisition. In this role, you will act as the "Air Traffic Controller" for the Integration Management Office (IMO). You won't just track tasks; you will partner with our dedicated functional leads (HR, Finance, Product, IT) to clear roadblocks, manage dependencies, and ensure we realize the deal value without disrupting business momentum.
The Mission:
Optro is in an active phase of strategic expansion. We are executing multiple tuck-in acquisitions and need someone to own that work end-to-end — not as a project manager checking boxes, but as the operational nerve center that ensures every deal we close translates into realized value.
This is not a role for someone who wants to track tasks. The person who takes this role will build the integration function from scratch: the playbook, the governance model, the cross-functional accountability structures, and the muscle memory Optro carries forward long after this engagement ends. They will also be managing the most operationally complex moments in an acquired company's history — Day 1 transitions, system migrations, cultural friction, and roadmap convergence — simultaneously and without dropping anything.
They will need to run a steering committee on Monday, resolve a compensation gap between HR and a newly acquired team on Wednesday, and brief the CEO on integration health on Friday. That requires someone who operates at both the execution and the strategic level — and knows which one the moment demands.
M&A Integration Lead Role Type:
Contract (12–months)
Reports to:
Sr. Director, Strategic Initiatives
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Close & Due Diligence Support
Partner with Corporate Development and functional leads during the pre-close phase to assess integration complexity, surface operational risks, and pressure-test deal assumptions before signing.
Develop the initial integration plan and value creation milestones prior to close, so Optro hits the ground running on Day 1.
Translate deal thesis into an executable integration roadmap that functional leads can own from the moment ink is dry.
IMO Leadership & Governance
Own the master integration plan across 1–3 concurrent deals. Define timelines, milestones, and cross-functional dependencies.
Lead weekly steering committee meetings and functional syncs. Your goal is to ensure functional leads are executing on time, not just reporting status.
Maintain the RAID log (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions). You are expected to spot "smoke" before there is a "fire”, proactively identifying risks in product roadmap convergence or cultural alignment.
Operational Execution
Execute a seamless Day 1 experience for acquired employees: payroll stability, systems access, and internal communications handled before they arrive.
Adapt Optro's integration playbook to the specific needs of each deal, scaling appropriately for tuck-in scope and complexity.
Produce executive-level weekly status reports that track integration health against specific value-creation initiatives; revenue synergy targets, product migration timelines, and GTM readiness.
Build a documented, reusable integration playbook that Optro owns after this engagement ends. The institutional knowledge you build should not leave with you.
Strategic Alignment & Change Management
Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to track roadmap and technology stack convergence in a SaaS environment.
Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success leadership to drive the GTM changes required for value realization aligned to the deal thesis.
Serve as the primary bridge between acquired teams and Optro leadership. Identify cultural friction early and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
Attributes for a Successful Candidate
8–12 years of total professional experience, with 3–5 years specifically dedicated to M&A Integration, PMO, or Business Transformation.
Deal Scale: Must have managed integration for a deal between $2M-$50M of acquired revenue.
Sector: B2B SaaS experience is non-negotiable. You must understand the nuances of merging recurring revenue models, customer success transitions, and software product life-cycles.
Operates comfortably at both the execution and strategic level, willing to update a tracker and challenge a VP in the same day.
High EQ with a track record of driving cross-functional accountability without direct authority.
Clear, executive-ready communicator both written and verbal.
Proficient in project management tooling (Asana, Monday, or equivalent), data rooms, and Google Suite.
