About the role...

Join Duolingo’s Localization team to establish Duo's localized voice in new languages and markets.

We are looking for a strategic operator who can help us grow our suite of languages, facilitating delightful localized experiences across all of our course subjects. You’ll help us plan, facilitate, and launch high-quality content to our key markets and audiences. You will be responsible for scaling localized content creation for our launch and product marketing pipelines, in collaboration with marketing, design, product, and engineering.

  • Own delivery for language and feature launches; collaborate with partners to advocate for the simplest path to launching with speed and quality; identify opportunities, address dependencies, and mitigate roadblocks to make launching each new UI a better experience for partners and end users alike
  • Drive automation and system improvements to scale from 0-to-1 and beyond, leveraging technology to make localized content production simpler, more repeatable, and more transparent
  • Own tracking and data visualization for your localization vertical to improve planning, decision-making, and prioritization
  • Cultivate relationships with key partners (marketing, product, design, engineering) to develop a localization strategy and roadmap for your area; develop and socialize best practices and establish new ways of working

  • Localization program management experience. You have proven operational, organizational, and project management ability, such as experience building and scaling processes from the ground up
  • Demonstrated experience crafting localization strategy, with product, design, and engineering partners for new features and experiences
  • Tech-savviness. You are proficient in managing and scaling workloads using technology, including AI, CMSs, and CAT tools
  • Strong communication skills. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • 5+ years of experience in localization in a fast-paced, high-growth environment;
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or above
  • Experience getting results in a cross-functional environment;
  • Proven ability to create and execute detailed plans accounting for ambiguity, dependencies, and technical complexity in an agile environment
  • Experience working in edtech or consumer tech
  • Ability to work full-time from or relocate to Pittsburgh, PA or New York, NY

  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in a foreign language
  • Experience building localized experiences for 0-to-1 projects
  • Understanding of CAT and CMS technologies

We post a multi-level salary range for all of our roles.

This is not inclusive of the rest of our awesome portfolio that includes equity compensation and world-class benefits. Our salary ranges are the same for all US locations. Your recruiter can share more details about the range for a specific level during the hiring process. The actual salary within the range is determined by many factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, education, and internal equity.

Salary Range:
$140,300$237,600 USD
