Your Mission
As a Senior Legal Counsel in Brazil, you will be a key member of the global legal team providing comprehensive legal support to our activities in Brazil, one of BlaBlaCar’s key markets.
Reporting to the group Associate General Counsel, you will work closely with the local General Manager, the local business teams and the central product teams, advising on a broad range of legal matters and ensuring compliance with Brazilian law. You will also play a decisive role in our litigation strategy in the country.
In doing so, you will drive innovative solutions in close coordination with many internal stakeholders but also local outside counsels. This role requires a highly motivated and experienced legal professional with a strong understanding of Brazilian commercial law, competition law and consumer protection law.
Your responsibilities:
Manage and resolve B2C and B2B disputes and litigations, mostly commercial and regulatory, working with external counsel
Serve as a front-line counsel, identifying and resolving issues impacting local business operations
Develop legal strategies for acceleration of BlaBlaCar in Brazil notably by working hand in hand with our Brazilian Head of GR
Cooperation with PR team (revising statements, articles, etc.)
Provide legal advice on different matters such as civil law, media/marketing/advertising regulation, consumer regulation, digital law, contracts/commercial law, transport regulation
Monitor and draft analysis of upcoming regulations
Support central data protection and corporate legal teams with Brazilian specificities
Collaborate on cross-functional projects with other departments notably product and business to provide comprehensive advice and create solutions
Revising advertising materials, CRM, product flow, as well as T&Cs and PP
Draft, review and negotiate various types of contracts supporting BlaBlaCar in Brazil
Your Qualifications:
Law degree in Brazil
At least 8 years post-qualification experience, with significant relevant litigation experience at a law firm or in-house in Brazil
Experience as a litigator is a must.
Fluency in English and Portuguese
You have a results-driven and impact-oriented mindset
You are able to juggle multiple projects at a time in an exciting, fast-paced environment
You have strong interpersonal skills and highly collaborative with both business leaders and cross-functional partners, with a strong ability to build relationships, gain credibility, and partner with others
You have strong affinity for strategic problem solving, and driving action, go-getter mentality
Nice to have:
Previous experience in competition law, CADE proceedings
Previous experience in the tech ecosystem
