Key member of the Legal Department enabling excellent legal service delivery across Asia. Advising on the full spectrum of day to day legal issues relevant to an international technology business including contracting, corporate matters and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
Advise business leaders on diverse range of legal issues across the region
· Identify legal issues and risks and provide guidance on a number of complex topics
· includes corporate matters, intellectual property and dispute resolution (drawing on external expertise where appropriate)
· managing external counsel to ensure their work aligns to company priorities and costs are controlled
Contract review, negotiation and management:
· Draft, review and negotiate customer contracts
· Draft, review and negotiate agreements with suppliers and partners
· Help develop and maintain contract templates
· Work with our Contract Manager to improve contracting process and educate Sales Teams
Compliance
· Monitor & communicate the latest legal compliance and regulatory changes in the region
· Develop and support data protection and other regulatory compliance programs
· Draft & roll out local policies and processes in support of these aims where necessary, and provide regional support for global policies and processes
Coordinate management of subsidiary companies
· Work with external advisers to ensure efficient and compliant management of subsidiaries in the region, in coordination with rest of Legal Team
M&A activities
· Provide legal support to M&A transactions in the region if required

PROFILE REQUIRED
Professional Background
· Chinese qualified lawyer with significant experience working on international matters
· A minimum of 5 years’ post qualification experience
· In-house experience for a multi-national organization preferred
Skills & Abilities
· General commercial skillset including experience of commercial contracts and of data protection
· Strong knowledge of Chinese laws and regulations
· Experience of some or all of the following areas of law: software and/or data licensing, intellectual property, corporate, M&A
· Technology industry experience preferred
· Flexible self-starter
· Resilient, strong-minded and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
· Solution-focused
· Able to operate effectively across cultures and at all levels of the organization
· Fluent written and spoken English and Chinese are essential
