Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Administrative Assistant to support our Family Law team. This role is critical to the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the practice and involves managing end‑to‑end family law administrative workflows, supporting solicitors, and ensuring all documentation, court requirements, and client communications are handled accurately and efficiently.

This position suits a candidate with strong family law experience, ideally gained while working with Australian legal entities, who is confident handling both foundational administrative tasks and more advanced paralegal-style support, depending on workload and budget allocation.

Key Responsibilities: 

Core Administrative Support

  • Save, organise, and file incoming and outgoing emails and correspondence
  • Rename, manage, and maintain electronic and physical legal documents in line with firm standards
  • Diarise key dates, deadlines, and reminders
  • Maintain orderly and compliant filing systems for all family law matters

Family Law Workflow Management

  • Manage and oversee family law administrative workflows from matter opening through to closure
  • Coordinate and track court dates, hearings, deadlines, and related requirements
  • Ensure compliance with court procedures and filing timelines

Legal Documentation

  • Prepare, format, and proofread family law documents and correspondence
  • Assist with the preparation of court forms, affidavits, subpoenas, and other legal documentation
  • Ensure documents meet court and firm formatting standards

Client & Solicitor Support

  • Handle client communications professionally and with discretion, including email and phone correspondence
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients regarding administrative and procedural matters
  • Provide day‑to‑day administrative and paralegal support to solicitors
  • Liaise with courts, external parties, and other stakeholders as required

Advanced Support (Scope Dependent on Budget)

  • Provide higher‑level paralegal assistance on family law matters
  • Assist with matter preparation, document collation, and court submissions
  • Support solicitors with case management tasks as required

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Mandatory experience in Family Law
  • Prior experience working with Australian law firms or legal entities is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of family law administrative processes and court procedures
  • Proven experience preparing and formatting legal documents
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Comfortable managing multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously
