Senior Kotlin Engineer / Architect (web) - Freelancer

We are looking for Senior Kotlin Engineer/Architect to join our team.

About the project

You’ll join an Insurtech company offering a cutting-edge platform that empowers property & casualty (P&C) insurers, reinsurers, and MGAs to make smarter pricing, rating, and underwriting decisions.
The platform leverages decision intelligence, predictive modeling, AI/ML, and analytics to turn fragmented or sparse data into actionable insights, reduce manual work, improve pricing accuracy, and accelerate underwriting workflows.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has strong experience with Kotlin in web-based environments (not Android)
• Is highly skilled with Spring Boot and/or Ktor (this is super important)
• Has solid experience with Hibernate and Spring frameworks
• Understands modern software architecture and can contribute to design discussions
• Has valid EU work authorization (ideally based in Poland)
• Is fluent in English - both spoken and written

You will

• Build, enhance, and maintain core backend services using Kotlin (Spring Boot or Ktor)
• Collaborate with architects, product managers, and data scientists to design scalable and reliable solutions
• Improve performance, stability, and maintainability of the platform
• Contribute ideas for architecture, design patterns, and tooling
• Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and best practices
