Senior Key Account Manager

TLDR

Drive the growth of Blood in Modern Trade Malaysia by managing key accounts, executing strong sales strategies, and collaborating with leadership to expand market presence.

Hello. We’re Blood. Our purpose is to revolutionize periods. Who are we? Blood is a challenger consumer brand that creates game-changing period care products for all who bleed. Our focus on deeply understanding and caring for our users drives our product innovation and material design, which enables us to invent products that are both high performing and also better for the body. Blood is the creator of the world’s first Sanitary Pad made from Corn, and is the parent brand of MenstruHeat (menstrual cramp relief) and the Blood Menstrual Cup. Our products are sold across Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore, both direct-to-consumer online and in more than 7,000 retail stores - making more than 12 million periods better so far. Today was good. Tomorrow will bleed better. Who we’re looking for We’re looking for a Senior Key Account Manager (SKAM) to play a critical role in driving the growth of Blood in Modern Trade Malaysia. This role sits at the heart of our commercial engine. You will own and grow key Modern Trade accounts end-to-end, drive sell-out through strong execution, and work closely with the National Key Account Manager (NKAM) and Country leadership to scale our footprint sustainably. You will be both hands-on and strategic, equally comfortable running day-to-day account execution as you are shaping mid-term account plans. This is a high-impact role with clear visibility, accountability, and room to grow. What you will do:
  • Key Account Ownership & Revenue Growth (55 to 60%)
  • Own and manage assigned Modern Trade key accounts as the primary point of contact
Drive sales growth, distribution expansion, and velocity uplift across accounts, categories, and SKUs
Develop, plan, and execute rolling 6 to 12 month A&P / BTL plans (promotions, displays, activations) in partnership with retailers
Track and manage sales actuals vs forecast vs budget at account, category, and SKU level
Lead negotiations on promo mechanics, displays, pricing support, and retailer programs to achieve win-win outcomes
Monitor sell-out performance, promo uplift, and ROI, using data to inform future plans
Ensure strong on-shelf availability (OSA) by working closely with sales ops, supply chain, trade marketing, and retailers

  • Distribution Expansion & New Listings (15 to 20%)
  • Drive new SKU listings and door expansion within existing Modern Trade partners
Support and execute new account/channel openings in Malaysia, ensuring strong in-store launches and early velocity
Build structured account expansion plans aligned with portfolio priorities and channel strategy

  • Execution Excellence & Cross-functional Leadership (15 to 20%)
  • Work closely with Trade Marketing and Merchandising to ensure:
Displays, POSMs, and promo price tags are executed on time and in full
    Store-level execution meets agreed standards
Collaborate with Marketing on brand campaigns, GWPs, contests, and in-store storytelling
Partner with Supply Chain & Finance on:
    S&OP demand planning
    Order fulfilment
Debit note, TTA, and claims reconciliation

  • Seniority, Mentorship & Commercial Rigor (5 to 10%)
  • Act as a senior commercial voice within the Malaysia sales team
Support the NKAM in maintaining account hygiene, negotiation quality, and execution discipline
Identify risks early (OSA, distribution gaps, underperforming SKUs, retailer friction) and proactively propose solutions
Contribute to broader Modern Trade strategy discussions and continuous improvement of sales processes
    What you will require:
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in FMCG sales, Modern Trade key account management, or commercial roles
  • Proven track record managing Modern Trade retailers in Malaysia
  • Hands-on experience in promo planning, display negotiations, and sell-out management
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • A teachable/coachable spirit - this is critical because you will be pulling the biggest levers of Blood’s growth
  • Organized & highly analytical self-starter who can manage multiple projects and figure out complex problems without a lot of oversight
  • Fast learner and a team player, while being detail-oriented
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Make a difference - As a fast-growing consumer start-up, joining us is both an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of millions of women, as well as experience unique learnings first-hand as we scale up

Great team - We have a diverse team across Asia-Pacific where you will get to work alongside bright and driven individuals with proven experience in high-growth environments in both startups and MNCs alike.

Strong backing - We are funded and backed by top angel investors in SE-Asia.

Working flexibility - We believe in a hybrid working environment, where our team can benefit from the best advantages of working from home, working from office, and anywhere in between.
