Senior Java Engineer

At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join our UniQue Public Administration and Enterprise Projects team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our customers in the public sector and you will be responsible for developing applications and implementing new technologies while providing excellent client service.

  • Work with a skilled team as an experienced key member on analysis, design, and implementation of Enterprise, Java-based solutions for our customers
  • Maintain and evolve existing software applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification
  • Close cooperation with client teams and follow up business requirements
  • Produce and maintain technical and system documentation
  • Validate technical feasibility and propose alternative solutions
  • Coach and guide young team members

Requirements

What do you need to succeed in this position?

Your experience, skillset and qualifications are going to help you succeed in this position, moving forward.

We would like you to have:

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in the IT field, with at least 4 years in Java-based solutions, i.e. Java EE, Spring (Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Data), etc.
  • An in-depth knowledge of Java platform, object-oriented programming and dependency injection
  • A Deep knowledge of ORM implementations, i.e. Hibernate, Eclipselink etc. and JPA interface
  • Sound experience in building scalable distributed applications based on SOAP and RESTful web services
  • Very good knowledge of design patterns and best practices in software design
  • An in-depth knowledge and experience with authentication and authorization standards e.g. OAuth2, JWT
  • Solid experience with code quality metrics and test coverage
  • Solid experience in relational databases (preferably Oracle)
  • Solid experience in Java EE Application Servers (i.e. WebLogic, Wildfly)
  • Very good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to design and implement solutions with minimal supervision
  • A Passion for building software and continuous learning
  • The ability to cooperate, team-play and maintain professionalism in all situations
  • A University/ College degree in Computer Science or equivalent working experience

The following will be considered an asset:

  • Professional experience in frontend development frameworks (i.e. React)
  • Experience with distributed/modular architectures
  • Familiarity with ElasticSearch
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Integration Patterns implementation frameworks, e.g. Apache Camel
  • Familiarity with Jenkins and CI/CD
  • Experience in PL/SQL
  • Experience in technical leading
