Senior Java Backend Engineer

Job Summary

As a Senior Java Backend Engineer, you will build, and maintain backend services with high scalability, reliability, and maintainability. You will develop microservices, APIs, and cloudnative components, working closely with crossfunctional teams to evolve the platform. The role focuses on handson development, problemsolving, and delivering highquality backend software.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop backend applications using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and related technologies;
  
• Develop and maintain application code running on containerized environments, including Kubernetes clusters (EKS or similar), focusing only on application behavior and runtime;
  
• Write unit, integration, and performance tests to ensure reliability, correctness, and stability;
  
• Contribute to architectural discussions related to backend design, performance, data models, and service interactions;
  
• Collaborate with product, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver features endtoend;
  
• Participate in code reviews and support best practices related to clean code, maintainability, and security;
  
• Produce clear and concise technical documentation for services and APIs.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Java (preferably Java 17+);
  
• Strong experience with Spring and Spring Boot;
  
• Solid understanding of JPA/Hibernate and ORM patterns;
  
• Handson experience running and debugging applications in Kubernetes environments;
  
• Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and asynchronous processing;
  
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL.
  
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
  
  

Highly Desirable Skills

• Kubernetes Certification: Application Developer | Clour Native Associate;
  
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban;
  
• Familiarity with monitoring and troubleshooting application behavior (logs, metrics, tracing tools).
